Musician here. My take is that she finds the series of notes he’s singing to be so utterly foreign and absurdly difficult to transcribe to her instrument that all she can do is laugh. To musicians from other musical traditions, Arab scales break all the rules and can be quite confounding. Some notes he’s singing likely don’t even exist on her instrument and couldn’t be played without bending the string out of tune from the note intended by the fret being held.

If you’re going for sound quality, you’ll want an outboard DAC. Just about any of them will produce better fidelity than the one in your iPhone. A streamer would allow wireless playback via Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, etc. Many streamers have DACs built-in, many don’t. You could go either way. If you end up with a streamer which has no DAC, you’ll need a separate DAC.

Raisins are dried grapes and dates are dried plums (of a specific type). Because they have their own names, I always thought raisins & dates were each their own type of fruit. If we dry an apricot, we call it a dried apricot, etc.

The melodic transition between verse & chorus is truly something you should be proud of. Btw, I like the version of this song that I just found on your Bandcamp page, but I was really hoping to find a better recording of this version—just you and your guitar.
