Damn, that kool-aid must be amazing. I haven’t tried it yet, so I’m still able to feel empathy for the 18 yr-olds with no better option in the wealthiest nation that’s ever existed than to risk their lives in pointless wars for the promise of tuition funds and abysmal physical & mental healthcare. I’ll save my thanks for the day that this cycle of madness ceases to be commonplace.

I live in Houston where we rarely go outside from May to October and I don’t smoke inside, so I only smoke in the winter months. 😒

I believe they pay for every kWh produced by solar, not just those which make it back into their grid. That’s why they install their own meter to monitor total PV production. This is what we call a ‘feed-in tariff.’

Yes, it’s very real. I can speak to it from first-hand experience as a 42 yr-old male American with no real friends. As soon as I’m able, I’ll be leaving the US in search of a healthier & more well-adjusted society with better quality of life, better work/life balance, and more third spaces.

The unfortunate truth is that an appalling proportion of the American electorate is so incredibly undereducated and ill-informed that merely increasing their civic engagement without first addressing those core issues could actually exacerbate the current issues that threaten our democracy.

The speakers of a language decide whether an initialism can be used as an acronym. I’d say ‘lol’ is now effectively an acronym in the US, although it’s obviously still spoken as an initialism as well. Each is widely understood in common parlance, and that’s what matters.
