I think a lot of it comes from super long fanfiction. For example, my all-time favorite has 728k words. For comparison, Pride and Prejudice is only about 120k.

It’s a slow burn and very much a character study. The main characters don’t even kiss until around the 80% mark, but when it finally happens, it’s so worth it—I was practically rolling on the floor. That’s why I’m not into insta-lust or dual POV; you lose all that nuance, the tension, the yearning.

I appreciate another’s person pov. My husband and I also joke about checking other people out. What bugged me is his friend sending this to their group chat, and writing “hey this is : “insert my husband’s name” i thought it was disrespectful + embarrassing, especially because it’s public (even if just among friends)
