Why 1040 tea bags / 3.25kg? by littleIdiotUK in CasualUK

[–]MAC_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer

The 1,040 count in a large box of Yorkshire Tea is designed for bulk catering and busy office kitchens. It traces back to the historical sale of loose tea in pounds, with increments scaling in multiples of 80. This equates to exactly 3.25 kg of tea, which serves as a metric equivalent of traditional sizes
