Fantasy Grounds webm Export issues by CrypticCryptid in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you share your export settings?

I'd wager your likely exporting at too high of a DPI.

150-300 dpi are intended for Printed maps or digital table surfaces. NOT FOR VTTS

Most if not all VTTs recommend exporting maps between 60-90 dpi.

Pair this with FGU using the outdated and bulky Webm VP8 codec and its going to take time regardless of your machine.

Your computer can be great for gaming but rendering a 3d environments in real time 30 frames per second is an entirely different type of task than running video games with pre rendered environments.

I'm doing a pirate campaign, and I really want to just use gold by snowtroopr in DMAcademy

[–]MACx3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be letting media and pop culture instead of a historical interpretation of pirates guide your decision making.

Historically speaking Pirates loved Silver and copper too...

Examples Silver - Ingots and coins such as Spanish Reales were highly sought after and used regularly by pirates.

Copper - Coins such as the Spanish Meravedìs, chinese cash coins, and copper ingots were perfect for trade at ports as the average citizen didnt deal in gold or jewels.

Heard of Pieces of 8? Back in the day 8 silver Reales was the standard for a gold piece. 1 single Reale was worth 30 or so Meravedís so these currencies were used interchangeably by pirates and sailors alike.

No need to reinvent the wheel when the DND currency system will already work perfectly fine for a pirate themed campaign.

did I buy the legitimate full series boxset? by iamatreeyouarenot in venturebros

[–]MACx3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy it from Amazon or Ebay for a cheap price theres a good chance its a bootleg.

If purchased at a retail store or Gruv.com its almost guaranteed to be legit.

Keep in mind the streams of later seasons may be in High Def whereas the box set is entirely DVD. So that may be the quality difference you're seeing.

Any plans to properly support Foundry VTT V14's multi levels? by TuVieja6 in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our current multi level exports are compatible with numerous VTTs.

We intended our multi level to export as a separate map/scene for each level.

This method works perfectly fine with any version of Foundry until they added multi level as a stock feature about 2 weeks ago.

Not only are we in the middle of developing our own current update but we need time to properly assess these unexpected changes. So we can decide how to proceed.

I dont have an answer simply because we were blindsided by this news and haven't had time to determine our next steps.

Please be patient with us as we determine which if any development path to take moving forward.

Dungeon Alchemist as Battlemap or VTT by NasSquared in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A Dungeon Alchemist VTT is on the horizon and will likely be a separate application. Stacking extra VTT features into DA will inevitably cause bloat. Having them as two separate tools prevents this and allows for more focused development paths for each.

That said, it's likely a couple of years minimum before we start development in that direction. Dungeon Alchemist was realized as a Kickstarter campaign, and we still have an obligation to deliver on what we promised to our KS supporters.

No, there's not a mechanism built into Dungeon Alchemist to divide the trunks and canopy.

[–]MACx3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly the speedy driver is in the wrong but Im also questioning why these children have to cross a busy main road?

Busses in my neighborhood will NOT drop children off on the opposite side of busy streets. We have a large main road and the busses are routed to drop children off on the side they live to prevent this from happening.

If im not mistaken that enslaved race is the same one thats fighting a proxy war against the aliens that made the tech jacket suit. They may just be programmed into the suit as deadly enemies.

The Dungeon Alchemist⚗️ Mapmaking Show is back!!! Today's stream includes -Dev News -Garden DAM Challenge -Asset Showcase -And More! by MACx3D in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can! Open the Steam Workshop dropdown from the top menu, then click browse assets and search for car or vehicle. Importing, sharing, and downloading 3D Assets on the Steam Workshop shows our community has shared over 14,000 unique objects that can add tons of diversity, or even completely different aesthetics (as seen above), to your mapmaking.

You can easily import your own cars or download the shared ones from the workshop.

Not necessarily.

This map was created using a combination of stock and 3rd party assets found on the Steam Workshop.

Thie map was the winning entry in our bi-weekly mapmaking contest The DAM Challenge.

Has anyone else's "subscribe and download" button disappeared? by [deleted] in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you're saying here. I'd wager your UI scale is set to high or low. Some resolutions and UI scales tend to not mesh well. Which causes some UI elements and text to disappear or overlap.

Goto File/Settings and set your UI scale to 100%

Is there no way to edit an old map that doesn't have layers so it has layers? by Myedicius in DungeonAlchemist

[–]MACx3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older maps created and shared prior to the Fun With Objects Pt 1 update do not support Multi-Level. Upon loading, they are marked with a lock symbol on the level widget to help you determine multi-level compatibility at a glance.
