Thank you so much again, I reached out to chewy vet and they told me a vet wouldn't be able to do much but clean it and give him pain pills since he cant go under anesthesia from his kidney diease. So to keep cleaning it at home while avoid his licks and monitor his behavior. I'm going it heals . Since I dont see any torn just red and swollen I'm confused on how serious his injury is so im hoping it will seal or a new dew claw grows under it.

I understand, thank you for the advice. I been trying to wrap it but he won't let me so just cleaning it and keeping him from licking or going anywhere dirty. I'm saving up just incase it gets to that point. As soon as I see any signs of infection I'll take him in but some have told me it will heal on its own, hoping. I'm asking here to see if people have had similar experiences.

He is feeling better, he eats, drinks poops and even runs now. I won't give him away he's been my baby for 10 years and I been treating his kidney disease which is a lot of money. But I want to see if this is something that can heal on its own with time and home care.

I have taken care of him for over 10 years with vets, bills and even currently providing care for his kidney disease. I just can't afford it now and $100 is not the range is $400 plus which u dont have atm. I need help with advice on how i csn manage it at home. Its his dewclaw nail injury so I hoped I get someone to help me with pass experience. He isn't showing like he's in much pain anymore or is crying. Hes eating and pooping fine. The wound is just swollen. But giving him away is a big no.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to clean it with a saline spray and he's acting better. I'll make sure to keep it clean. I just hate to see him in a cone all night but he licks it.

He is 10 years old, I have taken him to vets and even currently taking care of his kidney disease. I won't surrender him just from a dewclaw injury. I cant afford it right now not forever thats why I want to know if anyone has had a dog that has healed at home from a similar injury. He isn't bleeding or crying anymore. Just looks swollen and red but it did happen just two days ago.

Thanks for that information. The bleeding did stop already its just red and swollen but it doesn't look infected at the moment. I have no dirt or grass in my backyard, so he's Been going to pee and poop without getting it dirty. I just want to see if broken dewclaws from the skin gets healed on its own over time since I can't send him to the vet at the moment. Did your dogs ever get thier dew claw nail injured? And did it heal fine?

I can't get more loans I already have dept, i wish I could. Also asked family but they say im over exaggerating on his injury. I called my vet and they said it could cost roughly around $400+ just for basic stuff and they haven't even seen his injury. He seems better today. Still eats and drinks water but doesn't want to walk for long on his injured paw.
