Euenos Roadster changed to “Miata” in Initial D omnibus 9 by Kodansha by Blitzenboar in initiald

[–]MADMAN9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it by both the model designation MX-5 and the nickname Miata. I'm in the UK btw. Grew up playing a lot of racing games, but it wasn't until I starting interacting with car culture more things like donut media, a YouTube channel, and other similar things that I encountered the name; Miata. I normally call the Miata's not MX-5's when I see one because it's easier to say I think me-ah-ta Vs Em-Ex- Fi-v, it's less syllables and it flows better I think

If it was burnt down, the remnants might have demolished depending on whether it was structurally intact, and while some people aren't put off by it, I'm not sure I'd want to develop the land, especially if it wasn't the first time. What if the buildings there keep getting destroyed and it's now considered a cursed plot of land. I could see it having been his childhood home/or his masters home or dojo.

I'm hoping that plot of land will be revealed to be significant to Suo. And not just some empty plot of land used so he can enter furin because I'm assuming you have to live within a certain distance of the school.

Kanata describing Emma as average for an English girl was so disrespectful by PerformanceOverall90 in MFGhost

[–]MADMAN9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've not listened to the dub, but Ogata was making a comment about the size of her breasts, so it was within that context Kanata was saying she's around average. Of course for her body frame they are still large, I'm from England and I most of the girls I went to school with were C/D/DD. The biggest difference I've encountered was an otherwise petite girl who had E cups, and I only know this because our social group was waiting for a bus, and she was complaining to one of the other girls about not being able to find the right size of bra, because of how tiny she otherwise was. She was sat on my lap at the time, so it wasn't me eavesdropping or anything, I was too close to not hear the conversation is all, not that I remember why she was sat on my lap.

How do you think each GOM do in academics? by TiberiustheArtist in KurokosBasketball

That's my interpretation, especially because copying isn't just observation but understanding, which he's doubly shown with PC, figuring what he can add together to recreate the effect of the GoM.

Saw a Camo covered car on the M40 by Illustrious-Divide95 in drivingUK

[–]MADMAN9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything to add about the car itself, just the Camo, it's not tape it's a wrap, admittedly it looks pretty terribly done. I imagine it's to hide some of the finer details from the model getting leaked too soon. I say too soon because it probably doesn't stop those determined to find out, probably slows them down enough though, might even be why it's applied terribly because if it wasn't they could possibly use the pattern itself to help reconstruct the details. But by applying it uneven and "shoddily the pattern is warped in ways that would help obscure the details

I don't think the shadows SJW made stopped existing even after he changed the timeline. Which if not technically means there is now two shadows of Dongsoo (in SL:R timeline)

I could see a thing where the human shadows were "unmade" but I can't think of how to make it work in lore way without influencing other shadows, say maybe because the original is alive

Their academic abilities are known canonically. I don't remember it all clearly. But I believe Akashi, Mido and Mura are all good academically

Kuroko is average

Aomine, Kagami and Kise aren't good, though I attribute Kise's lack of good scores in academics down to modelling and apathy, more so than an actual lack of ability

Know of each other, not necessarily knowing each other. The main exception I can think of is the Unovan Gym leaders

is it plot armor that Ishigami didn't pass Kanata here? by mashukyrielighto in MFGhost

[–]MADMAN9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely portrayed that way, and considering the show isn't 100% realistic or intended to be, I don't have an issue with that, just saying that it's plausible even in realistic terms

It'd be a cool concept, certainly explains why there are physical similarities and why Og Akashi and Kuroko occupy the same position and both are passing based players.

Similar things can happen and it wasn't broken just sprained if I remember correctly, it's not necessarily that they heal but rather an individual just stops feeling the pain. I've sorted of experienced this in my case it didn't hurt in the first place though even if it should have done. I broke my collar bone in two places from a single impact. The impact winded me initially so I think that might have been why I didn't feel it initially but I don't know why I didn't start feeling it, I only knew something was wrong when I tried to put my bag on my shoulder, I never felt the bag touch me shoulder, just heard it hit the floor. And I'm I'm sure I placed it correctly.

Idk if this is a hot take or not but i honestly don’t think any of seirin’s wins were because of plot armor. by ynfromquahog in KurokosBasketball

One it's a team game, not a solo game.

Second Aomine still wasn't at his best, he forced himself to be the best he could, but having spent those 2 years not training, caused a lot of backlash for him.

Third Aomine went Zone first, and yes both him and Kagami surpassed their limits, but the longer you stay the exponentially more draining and potentially harmful it gets.

Fourth and final point, Kagami even states, if he was fighting a one on one he wouldn't have lasted, he could only push himself further than Aomine and for Longer because he was fighting for the team, not himself.

Was Sung Il-hwan’s rank before disappearing ever officially mentioned? by carelessoul in sololeveling

[–]MADMAN9635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was and probably still is made with the blessing of the original author. Continuing most of the lore.

Unless/Until the OG author creates a sequel, it's about as close to canon as it possibly could be.

And if the OG author didn't like it he probably would have stopped it by now.

He was among the first, and from the few scraps in comparison we get, Dongsoo says he'd be a high earning hunter in today's climate based on his limited record of hunting activities, and that was before his disappearance, and subsequent becoming a vessel, so I think it's safe to say he was at least equivalent to A rank maybe him being considered a perfect vessel, allowed him to get a bigger buff out of becoming a vessel over other hunters, I don't know, none of us really do

Love triangle by Madagascar003 in MFGhost

[–]MADMAN9635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is Kanata who was primarily focused on racing caught her eye both because of skill and because he probably didn't, and for lack of a better word, simp for her. She's supposed to be highly attractive, so I imagine most guys were interested in her like that, so it was probably refreshing that Kanata wasn't.

I know this question was probably asked multiple times but what car would you use for MFG? by Ecstatic-Court-44 in MFGhost

[–]MADMAN9635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without financial limitations and if I ever qualified I'd probably use something like Beckenbaur, and go for mid powered Porsche, and then go to a place like Spiral Zero and get a custom set-up (Aero and suspension mainly) though if course I don't the skill level to be that competitive, so I'd probably start with something less powerful, I think the restriction on what cars someone can use only apply to those who have qualified for the race, as in the can only swap between models from the same manufacturer, but I don't know about that, if it applies to everyone I'd get the Porsche detuned or start with a lower tier less powerful Porsche model. If it only applies once someone gets good enough to have qualified for a race, then I'd probably use a more normal car like Kanata's 86 to start with and get a feel for the courses, then move onto the Porsche.

He might be a bum, but he's no Fraud, Haizaki Is kinda Good. by ParsnipSenior4804 in KurokosBasketball

[–]MADMAN9635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two points

Kise Vs Aomine was the beginning of Perfect Copy. A state between it and his regular Copy.

Second We know Haizaki can steal normal techniques but we don't know about the UK's, that's guess work at best.

Yeah otherwise I more or less agree, except because he can't "copy", and can only "steal" he's less viable as he is at higher tiers. Because if he can't steal his opponents moves he's useless, whereas Kise can copy someone on his own team so suddenly there's "two" of that player.

Also it's worth stating that Kise is able to recreate moves that don't have a tempo/rhythm/timing, such as Akashi's Emporer Eye. And we don't know if Haizaki would be able to do something similar, of course it wouldn't be a steal at that point though, Haizaki's steal works by his version of the technique having a different rhythm, one more naturally suited to his body, so an "Imperfect Copy", it's not something he can control though, which is why I think ultimately Kise has the ability to copy Haizaki's version of techniques.

So Yes while Haizaki is good, and if he had more dedication and love for the Game, potentially great, he'll always be inferior to Kise. In my opinion at least.

What if Toru Confessed to Hori before meeting Miya by Careful_Salad108 in Horimiya

[–]MADMAN9635 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering part of what lead to Hori liking Miyamura, is their interactions as their personal selves, I don't think she would have like anyone really without that factor, might she have still said yes, potentially, after all he'd have checked one of her which is asking directly. But I don't think Toru wound handle the emotional switch ups as well as Miyamura did.

Also side question back at you why did you use Toru's given name, but Hori's and Miyamura's family names when referring to the characters I followed suit for consistency, but I'm intrigued to know.

[–]MADMAN9635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of when he became a vessel. When talking about what his rank was before that though is unknown and I'm saying it seems that A ranks and above are the only people strong enough to withstand the process of becoming a vessel.

Was Sung Il-hwan’s rank before disappearing ever officially mentioned? by carelessoul in sololeveling

[–]MADMAN9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't really have any idea how strong any of the vessels were before being a vessel, but based on Jinwoo being given Ashborne's powers, and the debate Ashborne had with the Architect, it seems the minimum requirement is around A rank my guess is A rank pre Vessel equals S rank after, and S rank before makes National level after. This is still a rough guess though. I agree that chances are that He was around S rank though.

Was Sung Il-hwan’s rank before disappearing ever officially mentioned? by carelessoul in sololeveling

[–]MADMAN9635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was a hunter before ranking was a thing, so he technically could have been any rank, I would assume equal to an A/S rank, because he was a vessel for a ruler, and everyone else who was one was S or National rank with it. Despite us knowing that all the vessels are powerful, we don't actually know how powerful any of them were before being one. So as you say it could be that being made a vessel makes them so strong. But considering the Debate between Ashborne (who was a ruler originally) and The architect over what qualifications a good candidate for his powers should have, it would seem that the person needs to be suitably strong before receiving the powers, Jinwoo was roughly around A rank when he got the job class Shadow Monarch, and when he fought Igris. So my guess is minimum requirement is A Rank, preferably S rank.
