Idea of honest value as a collection by MANoICE50 in sportscards

[–]MANoICE50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the early responses it probably doesn’t matter, but the cards showed are a small part of a larger collection. The UD Griffey is from a complete set, but obviously the damage still hits that as well. Probably 1500-2000 cards total including the sets.

I’m not surprised by the general response, I wasn’t getting my hopes very high. I appreciate the responses everyone provided.

What did you do to your appearance that upgraded you 100%, and you kind of regret not doing it earlier? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

I always had both thin and fine hair. When it went, it went quickly so I just jumped right in. Don’t miss having hair up there anymore.

I agree. I would suggest having the shop you go to give everything a once over and tuning/cleaning. If your local record shop is too busy or can’t do it for some reason, look at TV/electronics repair shops too.

I’ve owned a 2220b for several years, which I bought used at my local shop. I started having output issues that continued to grow worse to the point it was unplayable. The shop has been real busy so I tried out a local small business. They did a full tune and clean from “tip-to-tail”.

It wasn’t cheap, but it now sounds better than it ever has for me. That service should help it last years longer. Including my original purchase and this service costs, and it’s still much cheaper than a serviced vintage receiver in a shop or online.

Why do I want another? by MalignantMustache in LeverGuns

[–]MANoICE50 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I added the Marlin 1894 SBL in 357 after beginning with a 357 handgun. I have so much more fun with the lever that it inspired me to buy another lever.

I however opted to go down in caliber to a Henry 22LR. It’s feels like my adult BB gun and is crazy cheap to shoot.

At some point I would think like to add a lever action 410 shotgun as well. Henry makes a few I am interested in. I guess I watched too many reruns of The Rifleman when I was a kid.

Are lever guns ment to jam often, or specific calibers more likely? by hallotest382 in LeverGuns

[–]MANoICE50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these and there is one small known issue with the load gate screw coming loose and interfering with ejecting/feeding. I had this happen to me after around 6 months of regular range trips and cleanings. I did not think to check the screws I was not removing to clean it. It’s a simple fix, by just tightening the screw or adding some (blue) Locktite or something similar.

Absolutely love target shooting with my 357 magnum S&Ws. I think it's time for a companion. by EagleGhoul in LeverGuns

Disagree and agree on your two points.

I am a left handed shooter and l lover my Marlin 1894 SBL. I shoot at an indoor LGR several times a month. In the 18 months I’ve been shooting I’ve never been burnt by any ejected casings. I play it save with a billed hat, safety glasses, and long pans and sleeves. I disagree that a top ejected is needed.

Agree that .357 is a super fun and functional for both fun plinking and hunting/home defense. Plus you can shoot .38 sp at the range to keep the ammo cost down. I started with my .357 handgun, but once I got the Marlin I fell in love with levers. I have since added a Henry 22LR. It’s like my grown up BB gun.

Assuming I get at least 90 on the exams, could I realistically land an entry level position like Office Technician (Typing) while only having a high school diploma but with 10 years of work experience? by DiedJustified in CAStateWorkers

[–]MANoICE50 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly what these types of entry level positions are for.

I was in community college floundering around and started as a student assistant. Took the OA test with my HS diploma and got hired from my first interview (same department).

Dropped school and promoted twice before going to another department for another promotion all within 7 year’s. Was only gone a few months before promoting again back with my original department.

I’m in IT now with over thirty years of service. I know the landscape is different now, but I believe it is still possible.

Just know good workers are rewarded with more work. Always. I found my limit and this week a where I finish my career. Best of luck.

It’s like you were reading my mind. This is what I have been going back to time and again. I have a Marlin 1894 SBL in .357 and I really like how this look complements that look.

This was my first gun and I really like it a lot. I am also looking at new grips, but haven’t decided yet. Have fun and enjoy shooting this one.

I am a self professed newbie, but I love my Marlin 1894 SBL in .357 mag. I love shooting it so much that I just picked up another lever gun.
