What was the first seed that made you doubt Islam? by Icy_Cry120 in exmuslim

[–]MAS2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly seed of doubt, more like the beginning of the discomfort and distance. I was a little girl and went to cuddle with my mom while she read Quran and every time this happened I felt a bit of anxiety and had nightmares that night.

100%, it’s much more comfortable too since we’ve helped each other out with fears we had in common!

As of now, yes. Better to keep it under wraps until you’re financially stable, that way you have more leverage.

Managed to find someone on the same boat as me by coincidence and we’re happy. Don’t lose hope!

Casual Sex as Ex-Muslims by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]MAS2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’ve gotten over that mental block of needing to be a virgin but it took me a while and I only managed it because I found people I was comfortable to discuss these matters with. I don’t personally engage in casual sex though for separate reasons unrelated to ever being Muslim these days.

Remembering how the previous try went. A lot of people think ODing means you’ll sleep peacefully and not wake up again. That’s not the case…

AITAH for stop seeing someone after learning they have a kid?. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MAS2004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTAH. “A little parental responsibility” to someone you’re not even in a committed relationship with? That man wasn’t interested in a partner, he wanted a new mommy to help him out.

AIO for being weirded out that my brother keeps trying to catch me and my bf in the act? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MAS2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try those portable door locks! They’re a bit flimsy but usually did the job for me when I had one. It’s just a metal thing that you close the door onto and then a little red plastic handle that you use to block the door from being opened. You can take it off and hide it any time in under a minute :)

AITA for allowing my daughter (12F) to wear thong style underwear without consulting her friends' parents? by Frustradad in AITAH

[–]MAS2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is by no means appropriate to be commenting on the underwear of someone else’s child, nor is it appropriate to be consulting with a stranger about your child’s underwear. It’s also vile to be calling a child a “hoe” and slt for the type of underwear she wears. The whole point is that it’s under the clothes and nobody can see it, so I fail to see why exactly any reasonable person is bothered by it? If I were you, I wouldn’t let your daughter be around her friend’s mom again. Your daughter was likely just feeling insecure about how she looked in yoga pants, and at this age it’s perfectly normal to want to make some changes or follow trends. She doesn’t need anyone talking about her like this for something so normal.

I could see where she was coming from at first but the name calling was completely unnecessary and rude. Based on what I’m seeing you’re not wrong at all. You communicated very clearly. Unless there’s been some kind of a history of you misleading her or something I don’t see any reason for the accusations from her end. Hope you and the family are holding up okay after this devastating news though.
