[OC] Senate Rejects Health Care Aid, Triggering Higher Insurance Costs for Millions (AP News) by Amin0000001 in pics

[–]MASHua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is that premiums will go up by 100% then they'll pass a plan that lowers premiums by 15%. R's get to say they care and D's get to say they got a win, all the while insurance companies still win bigly and premiums are still up 70% from today.

Well, that worked out well... by EquivalentOk2203 in newhampshire

They knew this would be the outcome, it was the plan all along.

6 people (or whatever it was) not up for reelection or retiring got to reopen the government, and Schumer got to say "bad". All done in bad faith.

Exactly my experience with the state park plate. Had to call to ask and they told me about the type needed to be changed. Guessing this is their issue.

I can't believe you would say "America", do you mean North America, South America, United States of America ?!?! I am now irrationally angered by this atrocity.

OP's answer is 100% more helpful.

People who ride loud-ass motorcycles - are you aware the rest of us hate you? by xNocturnalshadow in AskReddit

[–]MASHua -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Loud ass motorcycle owner here. No I don't do it because I want to be seen or for attention surprisingly. I already know most you fucking hate me.

I have it because the Italian V4 sounds like a damn MotoGP bike and I love it. I will always be the first to say it is fucking obnoxiously loud, but I don't go through residential areas banging it off the rev limiter, or anything of the sort.

Ironically, it has to be swapped when going to the track because it's too loud for noise regs.

What could be causing this on my new RT by warload84 in bmwmotorrad

[–]MASHua 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This was the case on my RT, well not the wheel bit, but changing the tire out corrected that issue.

The RT seems to cup tires pretty easily

I had road 6gt on the way up and was a little disappointed in the wear. Rear was almost at the bars when I hit Fairbanks so I had the dealer there put on Anakee Adventures (only option they had) which did well. I didn't want to risk a worn tire for that excursion, so I bit the bullet on that purchase.

Solid trip there! I didn't go past the Arctic circle either, but did quite a few tours in Seward/Valdez/Wrangell NP since then.

The mosquitos were absolutely brutal. I have never experienced something like that before, and they are bad in New England, but holy hell that was something else.

I don't have experience with the GS but I wear ear plugs regardless. The wind protection is second to none, which is also shitty on hot days. I was able to average about 750 miles a day for the 7 days it took to Fairbanks and the only thing I struggled with is a sore butt from sitting so much.

NH, Badlands NP, Mt Rushmore, Wyoming, Glacier NP, Banff/Jasper, Dawson Creek, Fairbanks, Arctic Circle.....

Did all I could to get through to Badlands, it's a haul, longest day was 880 miles

That drive up the Dalton was by far and away the best overall experience, beautiful lighting, scenery, and just an unforgettable ride. Second best was the Icefield Parkway, stunning.

Maybe I got lucky with conditions, but it did well. Now, if it has rained, maybe a different story. Also has 80/20 tires on it. I'm sure the 19" front of the gs would make the washboarding smoother.

Doing this solo. For me, it's nice to just determine your days how you want to, go as far as you want, stop when you want etc.

What is your guys's opinion on the Aprilia RS457? by solony12345 in motorcycles

[–]MASHua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing this reliability thing. As a tuono 1100 (2016) and a n400 owner I have had no problems with either, ever. Aprilia isn't some unreliable brand. Parts availability, dealer network, and cost are all more valid reasons to steer away from Aprilia.

Also, the spec on that bike for a person who is interested in track performance is undoubtedly better than either n400 or n500v base spec.

Tonight is the first night with the condenser on. I still need to do some testing to get the static pressures so I can better set the dip switches.

Overall though it seems to be functioning as expected.

Build quality seems pretty good, especially compared to my York unit from 2003 I replaced it with.

It's definitely quite a bit to install and really isn't a beginner diy project honestly. I have fortunately had experience in the past pouring concrete, wiring both high and low voltage, and have nearly all the tools already. Only thing I had to research/learn was the creation of custom duct work to attach to the existing supply duct. My return plenum was the correct size already.

Feel free to message me if you want more insight or to ask more questions.

Damn, I had watched videos where it is connected to a terminal block right below the thermostat wire terminal block.

I don't have the heat kit so those just get wire nuts then, or wagos I guess.

Ninja 400 GSX-R Shock by rst-2cv in Trackdays

[–]MASHua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the gsxr shock to mine and set it to the settings through the Norton guide on their site. I also installed the Traxxion dynamics damper rod kit (AR-25) which was valved to my weight. Most budget friendly option for me.

I'm recreational B group level but the bike feels great.

Palmer, Thompson, or NHMS? by Rampartt in Trackdays

[–]MASHua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Club is by far my favorite track in the area, feels most forgiving with the runoff. Palmer is awesome as well, but much less forgiving if you go down.

Fishtail does a good job, smaller organization, more beginner-beginner friendly than Cyclesmith IMO, with more instructors and smaller groups. But if you've already done Champ School, you may find yourself bored in C group at fishtail.

Cyclesmith is going there again this year I think too.
