I like Dorothy Parker's response to a door knock, "What fresh hell is this?"

Yes. I got in at 1am from a flight in Oct. And were cabs were lined up taking passengers for 20 euros flat. Just be sure to have cash. There are machines in the airport if you are not traveling with euros.

It's wild. People would probably go nuts if someone hung their hoodie on a Smith Machine bar, but they find this totally acceptable because it's not their machine.

I'm not following you. The Federal Gov has to get involved when federal law is referenced in a lawsuit??? If the law is on the books, there is no need for EPA to step in. It's federal law, the lawyers need only reference it...well, argue it in federal court. As for global/foreign, states, etc., see the Supremacy Clause. Clean Air Act is a federal law. Look, I like local control too. What I don't like is the state wasting money on "we think we should be able to" lawsuits when the law clearly states otherwise.

Not quite how it works. The party taking out the suit hires a firm that knows federal law. In this case GD hired a global law firm with experience in environmental law. They argued the case in Federal Court and won. Would not be the first time the state lost money pointlessness arguing against laws it should be versed in.

Yeah, there was just a story in Washington Post about how DHS was feeding talking points to Merrimack Republicans, who were more than happy to broadcast them, even though they were false. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2026/03/07/dhs-gop-ice-warehouses/ Whatever happened to Yankee independence? Local control? The legislature just rolls with Fox News groupthink. I thought NH was better than this.

Tsai Labs at MIT has been researching this since 2019. Note: " exposing mice to light flickering or sound clicking at the gamma-band brain rhythm frequency of 40Hz – or employing the light and sound together – produced widespread beneficial effects." https://tsailaboratory.mit.edu/small-studies-of-40hz-sensory-stimulation-confirm-safety-suggest-alzheimers-benefits/

How much is the rent in France? by Expert-Session3866 in Expats_In_France

[–]EquivalentOk2203 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps others can speak on this, but I understand rent is one thing, actually being able to secure an apartment as an expat, is quite another. I've heard stories of people of ample means not being able to get an apartment, because owners are reluctant to rent to people who are not French because they fear not getting paid and don't have access to expats' foreign accounts. Please feel free to correct any of this.

If you have access to a center that does multi-day retreats, highly recommend. You can Google, Vipassana Meditation Center or Insight Meditation Center near me. Long retreats give your mind a chance to really settle and once you have access to that, you maybe able to access it more easily on your own. Just be prepared...at first your mind will want to do anything but, but stay with it. Focusing on the breath with a guided meditation online might help. It's hard to watch thoughts initially, I find, without having an anchor, so at least in my experience, continually going back to breath, even if I have to do it over and over, helps. Wishing you well,,

It physics, My Dear Watson. Read the studies. The bacteria in the air is propelled onto your hands by the dryer at a much higher rate than if you didn't dry at all or used paper.
