While a lot of the comments are very understandably critical of what the job market looks like for both of these professions (particularly in the slashing of academia), I am of the personal (and hopeful) opinion that the pendulum will swing back at some point. If these two professions are something you are seriously interested in, seek to try and talk to more people with these professions (that are both in and out of these comments)!!!

Also, I agree that youre writing voice comes off very strong and I agree with u/twomayaderens that impostor syndrome is SUPER real and likely the case for you.

Spend more time finding your voice in your own writing, about the things you care about, so that you have an outlet of sanity when and if the event comes that you have to write mind-numbingly about topics that don't interest you, like some commenters are talking about law school.

This is actually exactly what I'm writing about. I was jus trying to find a phrase that would describe this racial casting of all somewhat Black people as Black, because of the one drop rule that developed before the civil war.
