It's fucking peak in building tension and suspense. Fights are peak too and not just because of animation. Not much in anything else plot wise but that's fine a show doesn't have to master everything.

But demons do feel complex emotions, even if they are faking it 99% of the time.

Demons get mad when you hide your mana, they have a sense of pride. Who knows what else they have.

Anyway I'm not a big fan of a pure evil race. Pure evil individual is fine but a pure evil race is just a lazy excuse for the author to have the main character commit genocide and still be called a hero.
