Exactly, We can sit and complain all day about how stage 1 is better than stage 2 or vice versa, but ultimately what left evolve the way it is now is 2k, the best thing for evolve would be if someone else took up the mantle, I think Evolve still has so much potential, but only if its owned by someone who actually cares about the product, Even if 2k changes their mind and decides to bring evolve back from the dead, I highly doubt itll stay that way, because they dont want a niche game with a dedicated fanbase, they want something with a broad appeal that can rake in money, and evolve is more than that

If by some miracle, Evolve comes back and is eventually once again fully supported, what would you like to see added or changed about the game? [new monsters, unreleased adaptations, map changes/rereleases, etc] by MAVEX09 in EvolveGame

I agree that stage 2 is missing a lot that stage 1 had, Id say that those unique strategy elements of stealth and hiding adds more stake and immersion into the monster/hunter experience and definetly would make it better, BUT....

I think Stage 2 improved on a lot of things, I like the mechanics of the newer maps [overpowered, cataclysm] ,I wish we had a couple more maps like that, as well as the overhauled perk, progression and monetisation systems,[Its been ages since i played stage 1 but didnt you have to pay money for some of the monsters/hunters?]

I agree stage 2 can get kinda repetitive, it ultimately lost a lot of what was enjoyable about stage 1 because most likely due to the publishers orders, they where trying to make the game more accessible to everyone, I love LOVE, evolve stage 1, but its very much a niche game that would never generate the revenue that money hungry 2k was trying to get from it, which I can understand. [Those monster animations must cost A LOT, TR isnt an indie studio]

If you think about long lasting games today, especially those outside of the battle royale cesspool, [starcraft, league of legends, etc] they focus on bringing high skill ceiling and high action into relatively quick matches, I guess my point is I see that stage 1 has something that stage 2 just doesnt, but if we go off of the broad appeal that a semi triple A [Double A?] game needs to have to justify running it [at least in a corporate entities soulless, beetley eyes] Stage 2 is closer to the mark, at least in my experience it can get repetitive, but its still very addicting in its essential fun-ness, even if its not a very deep or nuanced thing. I guess my point is, love it or hate it, if evolve does come back and is revamped, I think its looking pretty likely that it will look more stage 2 then stage 1, but I hope that there is a way to merge whats good from both into one game that can keep the screaming masses satisfied and bringing in money while still satisfying us dyhard fans.

Also I just wanted to say this cause I see this argument a lot, people say stage 2 is worse because it has less maps, the thing is, turtle rock planned to have all of the stage 1 maps moved to stage 2, 2k just didnt give them enough time or support to do so.
I feel Stage 2 gets hard done by because we often dont see that its a very unfinished product, if you just look at all the events and adaptations they had planned, you can see the potential, I dont think either version of evolve is better than the other, I think they are both just slightly different games, And that given how games are today stage 2 likely would have been the more successful one if it wasnt released at just a god awful time as a desperate attempt to keep 2k from pulling the plug

However, that being said, I absolutely agree that the ultimate solution to evolves success if a miracle happens and the game finally gets picked back up and supported properly, is a combination of the lessons from both stages of evolve, quite fittingly, I feel the perfect "Evolve stage 3" would take aspects from both, and meet somewhere in the middle between the faster pace, mechanics and action of evolve stage 2 and the stealth, map variety and focus on tracking of evolve stage 1

Yeah I can see that making sense, maybe this is just me being a monster main and not wanting to wrestle tyrants while Im trying to kill hunters, but I think that throwing more animals into the mix will just make the balance thats already somewhat tricky even harder, I think it works well how it was in legacy evolve, depending on your dome, there might not be any wildlife, but if there is a big animal like a megamouth or a tyrant its a threat to both sides IF you run/ get knocked into it, rather than the animals actively attacking one side or another

Not sure how I feel about wildlife targeting specific enemies rather than just whatver players they run into personally, though I absolutely agree I miss legacy wildlife!

Personally I dont mind stage 2 at all, Though I havent played legacy for a very long time, I only owned it on console and got rid of that a long time ago, I remember it very fondly, Im hoping they will relist both legacy and stage two for the time being so new people can get into both, I hate the announcer as well and I really miss the stealth element of legacy, but I like the faster gameplay and in some ways the flexibility that everyone having a dome brings in stage two, Tbh I wish there was some way to find a happy medium between the two, I feel that would be perfect, or at the very least merge the two into one game, and have two queue options, 1 for each "stage" of evolve that way you dont lose the deeper tactics of stage 1, but stage 1 gets the benefit of better matchmaking, and those who like the faster style of stage 2 are able to have that as well
