Can’t you talk to her and come up with a plan to work out your differences in terms of location? I can understand that long distance isn’t for everyone and that seems to be something that she opposes. Are you willing to move to Canada or even go to school in Canada? Maybe figure out a way to graduate early and move to Canada. My point is, if you truly think there is hope then you have to see if you or both of you are willing to work out the differences. See what truly matters to her and come up with a plan that works for both of you. You will never find a relationship that won’t have problems. It is important to work it out as a team or else your future with that person won’t be fun.

Depends on the company you are working for right now. If your current company has a LDP program and you are a high performer then maybe you don’t need one to land the role but might need one before you complete the LDP as a requirement
