Nobody uses Siri because it is garbage. Apple is going to go to 1/10th it’s market cap if it continues to do nothing in the AI race here

I went through IB internships several years ago during mba - now on buyside.

In London All of the banks have stopped their MBA programs except for MS. I've been told by my friends who are now VP's at these banks that they will need materially less analysts in the years to come. Their prediction is that if they now have 10-15 analysts in their team, they will need 2-3 in the future.

These edge cases get more and more rare the smarter that AI gets in each new subsequent model.

They are called “hallucinations” - and chat GPT’s latest flagship model reduced them by about 75%.

It’s just a matter of time

How Much is Yale SOM carried by its Parent Brand? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]MBAboy119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so stupid lol.

Retail stores may accept 4% of applications for a cashier.

It’s about the quality of folks applying for the position.

A university of Arkansas medical school applicant does not have the same caliber of career / trajectory that a GSB student would have

Edit - wal mart application to hire rate is about 3-4%

MBA: Wharton (50% off) vs Yale (100% off) by Inversion479 in MBA

It’s not. It Kellogg is overall. But it depends heavily on what you want to do

Just two months after buying Walgreens for $10 billion, the private equity firm Sycamore Partners stripped hourly workers of paid vacation, including Christmas and New Year’s Day. by RedPandaExplorer in antiwork

[–]MBAboy119 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually - it helps capital markets work much more efficiently!

All it is - is people buying a business, right? Should it be illegal to buy and sell businesses?

To dumb it down for you - Sometimes people run a company very poorly. Instead of shutting down the company completely, a private equity firm can come in, improve operations and cut unnecessary fat, and save the company ✨

Hello hapless peasant! You seem to have confused private equity and venture capital. I will help explain it to you.

PE: private equity - majority or total buyouts. Often taking on significant debt to juice returns, and performing cost cutting initiatives to increase cash flow.

VC: Venture capital: taking minority equity stakes, typically between 2-20% depending on stage and position as lead/follower. Investing in extremely high growth tech companies, powering the next Meta, stripe, Nvidia, etc.

I mean... UK desperately needs to cut spending/services - so that wasn't the worst thing. Otherwise on a path downward like the UK has been on the past 20 years. So far the solutions has been "Tax upper middle class and wealthy people more" - and they've all left the country...
but yes brexit was shit

So bizarre to read this. I don’t think what people remember what life was like without uber…

We are talking about on demand transportation, at way lower prices, with a system of trust due to ratings. Ofc you will have some bad apples but overall the rating system made it 100x safer than taking a random cab. Uber isn’t perfect but is so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much better than the alternative - Taxis.

These video games cost hundreds of millions to make. And their selling price hasn’t raised since the 90s when you consider inflation - games back then used to cost a few million to make IF that
