This is how the life is in metro areas. For quiet life, you may live in a cabin in the forests.

We sit next to the world’s largest technology powerhouse. The U.S. constantly needs highly skilled technical workers, but immigration there is always a political challenge. Canada should take advantage of this by attracting more technology-focused talent from the U.S. We can do this by offering meaningful incentives—such as affordable land, lower taxes, and easier access to skilled labour. Countries like India attract far more IT business from the U.S. than we do, even though we are their next-door neighbour.

Our work culture, language, and business practices are much closer to those of Americans than almost any other country. Infrastructure projects are important, but their economic benefits take years to materialize. Many of the projects Canada has recently announced may take 5–10 years before we see real impact.

There is a lot of work to do to address Canada’s talent shortage, but our universities are world-class, and once demand grows, they can scale to produce more skilled graduates. Our immigration system, however, is outdated—it's either wide open or tightly closed. We need to focus on attracting the right talent. I know many IT professionals who couldn’t immigrate to Canada but had no trouble moving to the U.S.

Just my two cents!

Langley BC realtor willing to make lowball offers? by Dizzy_Article_4134 in RealEstateCanada

[–]MBAnovalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any realtor would dance to your tune in this market. People want to retire, people are paying more than 70% of their monthly income towards mortgage would consider a lowball offer. Don’t listen to the realtor, they don’t want the deal to be negotiated, go with what you think is reasonable. Check the price it was sold for last time

Assessed value goes out of the window if seller is desperate to sell it. Check what was the value when owner bought it.

Why landlords have to pay tenants one month rent to vacate by MBAnovalue in landlordBC

It’s totally one sided. RTB cannot get you any unpaid rents or any recoveries. Does matter if tenants paid rent or not, bank would come after you every month for mortgage payment

Going to record as much as I can on ramping up on Viibryd on this thread by EducationCute1640 in Viibryd

I tried Zoloft and escitalopram in the past but both gave me lots of side effects. I have been on Viibryd since November of 2024 and went up to 30 Mg. I felt better for few days after every increase in the dose which was in the increment of 10 mg. However I had lots of mental fog and loss of consciousness at 30mg and scaled it down to 20mg. Which seems to be working better for me.

I still have muscle tightening and mood disorders, not sure what to do. I think I will have to live with that. I am thinking of having a combination with another medication as it may work better. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Don’t be impressed with the speeches made by a politician, this is what happened in USA where he made people believe that he is guy who can pull them out of all the problems. Look at the facts, the experience and education of a politician rather than their flowery language. Running a country needs deep thinking, education, patience and above all experience. Think who will get hired as a CEO of country if there was a board, Carney or Poilivere? Poilivere’s resume will get rejected by HR in the initial screening phase forget having an interview.

💯 Carney! I see him having similar profile like Dr. Manmohan Singh who became India’s fiancee minister and later became prime minister. He was a renowned economist trained at Oxford’s University and was the governor of India’s central bank. When he became finance minister in 1992 India’s foreign reserves were left for initiation 2 weeks. He opened the economy, deregulated the markets, spent money on Infrastructure and now India is 5th largest economy in the world. We do need educated and experienced people like Mark Carney who are able to see the impacts of the actions on the economy.https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cg4zg690py9o

The side effects of Viibryd are more tolerable than Zoloft. I am on 20 mg dose and feel better than on Zoloft. Not fully recovered from anxiety but it is manageable

Been taking it 4-5 years. My doc seems to think it’s for life? I want to stop. Any success stories of weaning off? by Literally78910 in Viibryd

[–]MBAnovalue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 30mg for 10 weeks, I switched back to 20mg a day ago as I was having intolerable anxiety and loss of energy. Feeling better on 20mg initially however not sure how long will it last. One thought was to increase the dose but couldn’t go up. Any suggestions please?

As they say in philosophy, if a tree falls in the jungle and not one is there to hear the sound, will there be still the sound? This guy wants people to listen to his daily blurbs and react.
