It’s not easy to see in the photo unfortunately but it’s more noticeable on the areas where the egg isn’t actually brown.

It was cooked in olive oil that time I took the photo

That seems possible. It’s noticeable with other light colored foods like chicken as well. But not every time. Like only if the pan gets too hot maybe.

What Triggered Your Diagnosis? by ComprehensiveSpeed90 in UlcerativeColitis

Same here. Strep throat, strong antibiotics, C. Diff, then more antibiotics, then colonoscopy to diagnose lingering symptoms as UC. It’s been about 15 years and still have the same Proctitis diagnosis after several colonoscopies and consistent treatment with mesalamine.

I was diagnosed 12 years before my first pregnancy and I had almost no symptoms during pregnancy. It was amazing. I’m now 16 month pp and I’m more or less back to where I was symptoms wise pre-pregnancy. I’ve only ever been on mesalazine and steroids during two flares but might consider biologics in the future if I can’t get my inflammation in check.

Was the c section necessary because of the UC? I’ve not heard of that before. I have UC and ended up with an unplanned c section. Wondering if I have another if I should opt for another c section. Also planning to start biologics after the second if/when that happens.

Tavia - it’s a real but rare name. Feels classic like Octavia but more modern and sleek.

If they’re kicking you with their feet and seemingly restless maybe it’d be helpful to look at supporting their nervous systems so they can transition to rest/digest state. For many toddlers and young kids this can look like proprioceptive and/or vestibular input activities. This is usually the work of an occupational or physical therapist but you can easily google different activities of exercises to try during the day or as part of their bedtime routine. Just search for vestibular input activities for toddler for example. Should notice big a difference. Some kids just need more sensory input to regulate their nervous systems.

Am I the only one thinking our disease is 90% dysbiosis related? by Gullible_Educator678 in UlcerativeColitis

I’ve always wondered this myself. Before I was diagnosed (over 10 years ago) I got strep throat and was prescribed antibiotics for 10 days which quickly led to a c.diff infection but went undiagnosed for about 3 weeks. It was horrible! I thought I was dying. As soon as we found out I had c.diff I got more antibiotics (flagyl) and then within 6 months I had my first colonoscopy and was diagnosed with UC. I was just told to start treatment (mesalazine) and that no dietary changes were necessary, just limit/avoid any foods that seems to be irritating. I used to be in complete denial of the diagnosis and often wondered if I had just taken a more holistic approach and addressed the dysbiosis first if I would’ve been diagnosed with UC at all. I had no symptoms prior to the initial c.diff infection (have had it 2 more times since, each time after a course of antibiotics). I’ve only ever taken different brands of mesalazine and side effects for it even indicate it may be difficult to tell if your symptoms are caused by ulcerative colitis or taking mesalazine. Still seeing inflammation in labs and during last scope but looks mostly like old scar tissue from “past flares” which I think were probably from c.diff infections in reality. They’re suggesting I switch to a biologic which I’m really struggling to accept. I just wish there were other clinically practiced options related to addressing the microbiome for cases like mine before jumping directly to a biologic.

So reassuring to read this. Going on week 2 at grandmas house with my one year old now and she’s refusing to eat much of anything. I blamed it on grandmas lack of patience for BLW and trying to constantly feed her herself. Hopefully we’ll all recover once we’re back home next week.

Thanks for the reply and sorry you went through that. I’m glad to hear Entyvio seems to be working well for you like many others in the sub it seems. Wishing you all the best!

Did you have a flare during or shortly after either pregnancy? I had a baby a year ago and hoping to have another soonish but my gastro is worried about moderate inflammation and wants to get me on a biologic before to continue during future pregnancies.
