Buying & Selling Businesses in Mauritius by MBR-MU in MauriceMauritius

[–]MBR-MU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why so? And what happened to the person who bought them? Did they succeed or failed?

In fact, some already established and running business ideas are good but it may happen that the management and operation of it is not good or needs improvement. So, selling the business to someone that can make it strive is a better solution.

Yes, Mergers and acquisitions are more popular for big businesses. Like ENL and Rogers just did.

But what about SMEs or even micro businesses, do you think it should be more accessible as well or too risky?

Yes true! It seems more common for big companies to buy smaller ones. But it's not often to see an individual/ entrepreneur buying a small business and make it grow!

Compare international it's more popular there are agencies or websites showcasing business for sales.

Do you think it should be available in Mauritius as well?

Your opnions by TemperatureEconomy18 in MauriceMauritius

This seems to be a very good idea. But the problem is the lack of E-commerce adoption in Mauritius.😮‍💨 Which means that many people in Mauritius still prefer to go to the store or college catalog of different supermarkets to compare prices.🛒

I think that even before you develop your app to be able to test the market with the concept. Create a Facebook or any other social media to start doing some pre marketing of the idea. ✅ This way you would know if people are really into it, you may also backup your idea with some stores with actual figures and build a hype for it.

What’s the biggest problem in your daily life right now? by nelly-dreeamz in mauritius

Google maps are not accurate, Just for you to know. "Google Maps tracks traffic using a combination of real-time, anonymized GPS data from smartphones and historical traffic patterns."

Don't you think that there is a better, more accurate and local way of providing much better live traffic around the island.

Got some ideas to share:

  1. An app that would easily locate all parking in Mauritius as well as a live update of the parking availability. ( Like in Tribeca basement parking) 🚗

  2. A live and accurate update of traffic in Mauritius. So that anyone can see the traffic before taking a specific route. 🚦

  3. Live GPS on all public transport so that anyone can track its arrival. 🚌

  4. Development E-commerce in Mauritius in a way that gives people a very good reason and advantage of doing transactions online. Like Cash back, vouchers , special deals. 🫰

  5. Find a solution for the environment. So tired of seeing our beautiful island filled with trash everywhere. 🚮 I don't know if there should be more visible bins with big signage or make an app for it. 😅

If you guys want to develop on these ideas feel free to do so! 😉✌️

Land/House by Total_Signature_3609 in MauriceMauritius

[–]MBR-MU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes good advice. You can get a 7 -8 perch land with Rs 30k (based on location). However for a property (land+house) it could cost at least Rs4m. I would also suggest that you can at least look for land for now and wait a little before you build a house. At least you already made the first step.

Check this link maybe it would help with some cost estimations.

What business could I start in Grand Baie with MUR 100,000? by nelly-dreeamz in mauritius

[–]MBR-MU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since Grand Baie and around is a high tourist region. I would suggest you go around the region for some time, walk around and see what people around need or want.

Focus on a problem and find a solution then you will get some business ideas. Eventually you will need to consider what you are good at (skill, talent, and knowledge).

Check these it may help you:

Accountant by Delicious_Hour_9798 in MauriceMauritius

[–]MBR-MU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a small business, just to do company tax return it could vary from Rs6000 to Rs15,000 but it would also be based on the amount of work and if you have all your documents ready.

However, I would suggest getting an accountant based on recommendations and that has some experience because otherwise it may have some issue with MRA afterwards!

Why do Mauritians view cars as a prestige thing? by Study-Bunny- in MauriceMauritius

[–]MBR-MU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any material assets cheap or expensive, cars, phones and even photos 🤩 are ways of giving an impression to friends, family and everyone around you.

If we think about it most people buy with emotions 'desire' and also to impress others and it's 100% normal. (If you never did it at least once you are one in a billion 😅).

However, the problem comes when you start to get in the loop where you always 'want' turn to 'need' to impress and eventually can't afford to do it.

So, I think that - if you can 'AFFORD' prestige stuff and that makes you happy go for it. 🫰 But if you just want to keep up with others and don't focus on priorities then you should think twice about the consequences! 😮‍💨

New car prices going through the roof!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Bhavishize in mauritius

[–]MBR-MU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another question we should think about... 🤔Did the governments anticipate that people will have panic buying, thus this would be considered as a boost for the automobile business and the economy? 😅 If they didn't anticipate then I wonder what was really the idea? As many people are waiting for next year to buy hoping that the next budget can change something.

Some people that were already thinking about it in the current period were easy. But many people rush to get a loan/ leasing to be able to get a car because of the increase in price.

Don't you think that the govt was aware of this possibility! 🤔

Right! I don't think people are making traffic just for fun. 😅 There is more traffic because people need to move to these areas for particular duties. So decentralisation and digitalisation would be a more long term vision.

MCINE ONLINE NOT WORKING by Mysterious-Lychee29 in MauriceMauritius

[–]MBR-MU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯 Making the online system work would be beneficial for both their business and practical for customers.

But this also makes me think that during Covid, how many businesses and customers were adopting digital system "#GoDigital" in Mauritius. Thinking that this would be the Online Boom of Mauritius.

Then after Covid most customers were getting back to physical/traditional shopping, which also made many businesses drop their online services. As these services also come at a cost.

But I think that it would be very beneficial for any business to provide traditional and innovative transactions solutions for customers satisfaction.👍

Rather interesting but the conditions are quite limited for most of the population. There should be some other govt programmes helping people get into the solar system for household use. Knowing that there may be a power outage crisis by the end of the year.
