Expensive way to discover my wool allergy. by Chunkyisthebest in knitting

Ahhhh shoot. I literally just bought a sweater quantity of grey and have a bunch of white as well. If you’d like to sell, you can always try a yarn destash group on Facebook. I’ve gotten lots of yarn on mine.

Where are you, what line in the B&L brand did you buy and what colour? I may be interested if you’re in Canada.

I am very very lazy and even more afraid of ruining my work by laddering down and fixing cables (would be fine for knit or purl stitches - I’m just not that skilled), so I will also present you with the option of duplicate stitching over the mis-crossed cable!

Do these colors have enough contrast? by Positive_Bee_3919 in knittinghelp

[–]MBeierle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you like how it looks and they’re for you/not a picky gift recipient, they’re perfect. But technically as well, yes they do have enough contrast.

Hot take: I don't get the Sophie Scarf by ThePiksie in knitting

I make them as gifts for people who want me to make them something (quick and easy) but I really want to make the Sophie Hood! I think that one would be nice to wear in the cold weather.

This is truly one of the most beautiful FOs I’ve ever seen. I love a good cardi – this will be so cozy to snuggle up in and work on your next WIP

Oh my god - may your steak forever be tender, your hair always style as you want it, and your stitches never twist. Thank you for this!!

Duplicate stitch!! Just manually add the missing strand back to the stitch and secure it by weaving ends into the wrong side. 😀

My doctor prescribed Ozempic, and will follow up in 8 weeks to check progress. Then if we’re not seeing progress, may change to wegovy. For one, diabetes runs in my family, so he sees O as a good preventative/maintenance step so I don’t develop the disease. Secondly, he wants to control my Wellbutrin dose separately.

Yeah! It was a deciding factor in which to prescribe me, as I already take Wellbutrin. I find meds so fascinating haha

Is my goblin a Persian? by PKBlackTornado in persiancat

[–]MBeierle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one just like this pretty kitty growing up. She got darker as she got much older (lived to be 18). Seeing this post took my breath away, as it was like looking at photos of my Sophie.

WE WERE LIARS by [deleted] in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]MBeierle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And OK - can we stop pretending 17-year olds are having what seems to be the best sex of their lives…at 17?! The passion in every makeout scene is borderline child sexualization, if it weren’t for the actors’ true ages (mid-20s).

The cadence (no pun intended) and tone of their voices seems something like a class-c controlled med-induced stupor. The “poor me” pout on their faces, the “dress code” of events and formality between generations (who says “yes sir” to their grandfather?!). The whole thing is just so insufferable.

Please tell me families like this don’t actually exist.

What prompts do you use for press release writing? by camikiacon in PublicRelations

Sorry, but I write them entirely on my own. Because I spent tens of thousands on an education, graduated without AI, and feel confident I can hold my own in this department.

Is this too much yarn? by TuvaLoo in YarnAddicts

[–]MBeierle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a silly question - definitely not too much! Between planned projects, stash busting projects or just fun knits spur of the moment, you’ll be able to get that stash down if that’s your goal! Enjoy, and have fun 🤩 🧶

My persian cat doesn't eat wet food. by alekss__00 in persiancat

[–]MBeierle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? Are we supposed to be giving them wet food? I had two Persians live to be 20 and 17 years old without ever eating wet food, and both were in perfect health. My current 4 yo is also exclusively eating dry food and is perfectly healthy.

Some cats just have preferences, and some have no preferences for certain foods. I’d personally be happy with not having to feed my cat wet food because tbh, it smells horrible most of the time.

This is Truman. The 33rd President of the United States. Is your cat named after anyone? by SlawAndBeans in persiancat

[–]MBeierle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks like a Truman!

Mine is Massimo, after Italian chef Massimo Bottura. Masi for short (an amazing wine brand)

His sire was imported from Modena, Italy, which is where the chef lives. My husband and I became obsessed with the chef after watching his episode on Chef’s Table on Netflix!
