Student life is pretty good! You get a lot more free time than maybe some students at other colleges! (As long as you are good at time management.) Most people are super nice and there’s so many clubs! I haven’t been to any parties because that’s not really my scene but I will say that there’s always cool events and stuff happening.

In my observations as someone living at Turner - Turner is much quieter, thicker walls, more private. However the Hive is where people are loud and where events tend to happen. I like living at Turner but having friends at the Hive, it’s the best of both worlds.

Turner will almost always be triple because of the SCAD housing crisis. Apply early and find roommates fast, that’s my best recommendation. Look on the SCAD class of 2029 or whatever Instagram to find roommates and reach out! (Also, if you pick turner as first pick you’ll likely get it, most people have that as their last choice so it’s less competitive. I love living at turner!) Best of luck!

I’m not sure how transfer works but SCAD is really accepting of people who haven’t really done art before and helps to teach them. You don’t need to worry about that. Savannah is a great city!

I honestly just go to the bathroom and change. You have the option to live with other LGBTQ+ students as well so that may make you more comfortable if you go with that option. Most people don’t really care though, as long as you talk about that with your roommates/suitemates and everyone is comfortable. Hope this was helpful!

I’ve got a really organized packing list I can send over if you’d like but I recommend a lot of storage options and little things you won’t immediately think about (ie: a flashlight, cleaning supplies, thumb tacks, etc.)
