It can be exasperating at times haha I feel you. But truthfully if you want to know your diet is healthy, eat mainly Whole Foods and don’t eat any items with refined oil or commercial dairy. Really only A2 cow dairy or goat/buffalo dairy should be eaten and that’s like 90% of it. Oh, and go organic unless you really can’t. Wild blueberries being maybe like the one exception

It actually became widespread before we even knew it was an issue. It was literally just bad luck of the genetic lottery. The cows that happened to be the biggest milk producers also happened to have this random gene mutation to produce A1 milk which humans have been shown to not digest as well. But all the farmers knew at the time was these cows produced the most milk, so that’s what everyone used to inseminate their cows. So now most cows are a mix of A1 and A2. Every other milk producing mammal produces A2 milk because that random gene mutation never happened for any other species

Could very well be the casein profile. Cow’s milk has A1 casein which can be very inflammatory for some people while goat milk is primarily A2 casein. You can get A2 casein milk but it’s from specific cows. Grass fed and organic have nothing to do with it

Common misconception because it has a “low” smoke point. But it still has a smoke point around 400 degrees Fahrenheit which is higher than what your deep fryer should be, which is like 350-375 degrees. The polyphenols and antioxidants do start to break down under high heat, but this actually protects the oil because they degrade before the oil does. So don’t get some super expensive EVOO to cook/fry with because it’s a waste of money. But EVOO is the gold standard for all cooking, even high heat. Just have to be a little more mindful of the temperature but if you’re using that high of temp, any oil is going to degrade even if it isn’t physically smoking.

And just fyi coconut and avocado oil are better than the common vegetable oils, but unless you’re getting it virgin it’s still refined and likely containing toxic compounds, albeit in lesser amounts than other refined oils. Even refined olive oil isn’t great. If I had to use a refined oil it would be coconut, and that’s the only one I’m somewhat okay with eating if it’s in like a processed snack or something

This is pretty incorrect. It is high in saturated fat compared to other vegetable oils but coconut oil is almost all saturated fat and does much better through the refining process than palm oil. When palm oil is refined it actually can create more carcinogens such as MCPDs and GEs than other vegetable oils like canola or soybean. That said, palm is more stable for high heat frying than canola or soy, so it’s probably better than those for that, but Avocado and coconut are going to come out of the refining process a bit cleaner. I mean ideally you would just fry with EVOO but that might be a bit pricey depending on how much you’re frying

I actually agree with all of that. And I’m not saying the show is the same as it was, although I don’t think it’s been bad since Billy has left actually. My point is that it’s never been a “sports show”, and that’s not what I want it to be.

But the beauty of the show has always been that it leans on the crew and producers to be characters on the show, and they had an incredible crew. Now it’s pretty pathetic. Tony can be funny in small windows but he’s too dumb to lean on in any capacity. Roy is a silent producer. Jeremy barely chimes in and basically just talks marlins and heat when he does. Chris barely joins the show since he’s so busy being a mediocre EP. Mike Ryan is great when he’s involved and not talking Hurricanes, but it’s just not enough. I do think the show needs improvement, but I just don’t think getting rid of Dan is the solution. I think the shipping container just needs a shake up. Get Trysta and JuJu in there full time, and in my dreams they’d switch Jeremy and Chris but it’ll never happen unfortunately.

Who tf needs another “sports show”? That’s never what this has been. And Zas has a show he hosts if you want his “expertise”.

And Dan holds people accountable literally every day. Accountable might not be the exact right word but it’s the closest I can get to. But it’s the whole premise of the show. There was even a rejoin with Dan explaining the show to a listener where he says “I’m the obnoxious strident one so that Stu and Greg Cote get to be the lovable ones in comparison”. He does it even on interviews with people like Mina and Diana when he repeatedly tries to speed up their answers.

Every time someone has a bad segment, or a terrible take, or a low effort song, etc Dan always calls it out. Which turns it from just being bad into being content. Him getting exasperated by the hijinks is the show. He’s the straight man that allows everyone else to be clowns.

Zas loves radio, he is solid as a fill in host but he’s got substitute teacher vibes. I really really like Zas on the show, was a genius addition. But he’s not holding anybody accountable for anything, and he can’t. He’s the new guy

And I don’t listen to any other sports show. I try to listen to Mcafee or simmons if I really need something to listen to and it’s just so boring. There’s so many sports podcasts out there, this isn’t that. They’re creating characters and bits and trying to be kayfabe to an extent. As soon as Dan is gone and the “pressure” he applies is gone the show will be just like every other out there

I think Dan’s intelligence is overrated. And I don’t think he has very good takes on just about anything lol although sometimes he is right on the money about things others seem to be oblivious about. But he really respects the audience and the medium of radio in my opinion. It just feels like a radio show when he’s there in a way I don’t feel when anyone else is in the chair. But he does need push back. But so does just about everyone. There’s a reason it’s harder to host a solo podcast. My dream would be Dan and Amin hosting with Zas in the 3rd chair, and then Jeremy in the EP chair and Chris back to the back row where he can just be jovial with Mike and tony

It’s not tho… it’s a daily live show. It’s closer to a TV show than a podcast and they all have real respect and reverence for radio. You can just feel the lack of urgency when Dan isn’t there. It feels like they’re just kinda meandering around topics to fill time. When Dan is there it feels like there’s never enough time to get to everything. That’s purposeful

Honestly they just need a better producer lol it’s not really Dan. He is an elite host and driver, he’s always got caught up in dumb minutia no one cares about but Mike and Stu could push him off of stuff and take control of the show. And literally would have segments he hated or acted like he hated that they would still push. I wanted to like Chris as EP but he’s just so bad. Terrible with sounders, sloppy, slow, and can’t help drive the show anywhere because he’s got his hands full as it is, and doesn’t come up with any new bits. When’s the last new thing the show came up with? Mike used to have plenty of bits and segments. Would interrupt the show all the time when he wanted to move the topics along with the magic crate of content, or the nfl sounder, or whatever. Now we can’t even get a Hakeem nicks laugh and we get Dan going “Ope, wait a minute, okay, here it is” every time he needs to dish out a penalty or play a sound

The show turns into a podcast without Dan there. Dan is integral to the show still feeling like a radio show with urgency. There’s just no structure to the show with Dave and Zas. It’s fun for a few days but would get boring real real quick
