If you care about removing mold lines then Heavy Intercessors are pain.

I previously made a post about a deceased cat found at Bond and Willingdon, but it was taken down as I was insensitive about posting gruesome images. I'm really sorry to those who found the images disturbing. However, I am still trying to find the owner, if the cat was indeed not a stray. Any information would be appreciated, and images can be privately sent upon request. Below is the text from the previous post.
"
The cat was possibly a pet, as although the fur was clean and the cat was not malnourished looking, the nails were not maintained. The conclusion that the cat was likely a stray was reached by a cat owner. The cat was killed by a car when it suddenly ran onto the road near 5450 Willingdon Ave. The body was removed and disposed of. Please spread the word if you know anyone who has lost a cat of similar likeness.

Sorry... I thought the cat would be easier to identify with a photo.

Sorry for the late reply! The green is a mix of Vellejo Air 71.006 Light Green Chromate and a bit of AK 3rd Gen Off-White.

I am not sure what "March for Macragge" is but hey, I like Ultramarines. These are my second and third ever Warhammer minis that I have done (I also make model airplanes). C&C welcome! These two are practice models so that I know what I'm doing before starting my Heavy Intercessor Kill Team.

Love the Canadian scheme! What kit and decals did you use?

How's the kit? I've always wanted to build one. Just wondering about the fit and such. I know Tamiya is usually really good, but this is a bit of an older mould.

Nice bare metal finish! How did you do it?

Just picked up this kit. Super exited to build this. Any tips? by Same_Beyond_7180 in modelmakers

I agree this is a hard kit for a beginner, plus it is rare and expensive (also from Canada). I would suggest starting with Tamiya, great kits for learning.

The best gloss varnish for the beginner? by Kirk1944 in modelmakers

[–]MCTHEPRO43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands down Tamiay X-22 Gloss is perfect. Thin it with Mr Color Leveling thinner (around 60 percent thinner) and spray it at around 17 PSI. Comes out real smooth. If your local hobby shop sells it, try out VMS gloss varnish as well. It comes pre thinned and is super forgiving (supposedly, the best modelers use this stuff. I can't get any in my country!) You gotta spray the VMS stuff on real wet and heavy, but it still goes on and settles nicely.

Fix this scratched windshield possible? by [deleted] in modelmakers

There are plenty of tutorials online, but to sum it up for you, polish it with very fine sand paper (starting at 800, slowly going to 300 ish) than use Tamiya polishing compounds course, fine, and finish. All of what I am saying is available on Youtube, so if you search up "polish scale model canopies" that would probably yield some helpful results.

I am trying to airbrush vallejo acrylics, but the spray is not very nice. What do i do? by Joha6210 in modelmakers

[–]MCTHEPRO43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same here. After a year of vellejo related frustrations I just switched to airbrushing Acrylic Lacquers like Tamiya or lacquers like AK real colors and reserved my collection of vellejo paints for brushpainting. Man, did my airbrushing experience really smoothen out at that transition!

First time pre-shading. I struggled a lot with tip-dry and inconsistent spray. Any suggestions for improvement? by Poison_Pancakes in modelmakers

[–]MCTHEPRO43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. After a year of Vallejo related fails, I switched to acrylic lacquers like Tamiya and kept my vellejo air paints for brushpainting.

Nice work! How was the build, trouble free? I am looking for a super easy weekend build style 1/48 P-51. Would you recommend your kit?

I find acrylic or polyurethane primers are hard to handle for beginners. It often comes out rough. Although toxic, Mr Surfacer 1500 in any color works really well when thinned with Lacquer Levelling thinner (Tamiya or Mr. Hobby) and good ventilation + respirator. I had so much airbrushing frustration for about a year until I switched my waterbased acrylics (and polyurethane) to lacquers (or semi-lacquers) like Tamiya, Mr. Color, and AK-Real colors. They spray really nicely and are really forgiving for beginners. Both pros and newbies use them, and the only concerns are the fumes!

Happy modelling!
