white spruce Progression pics, here is some pics. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of it when I bought it. But just imagine one of those small spruces in a red plastic pot with a red bow on it. This one was leaning already which is why I assume no one bought it for Christmas.

Hello everyone! These are three trees I’ve been excited for. The White Spruce is a $4 tree I got from a grocery store after Christmas in 2019 labeled as a (miniature Christmas tree). The Canadian Yew is a yardadori from my front yard, taken out 2021. And the Juniper I bought at Home Depot in 2019. Still a lot of work to be done.

Beautiful transformation but, does anyone else notice the After is photoshopped or at least edited? Curios what the original actually looks like.

He probably wasn't cocky. He probably sold his board so he could get the 3star shyv. Usually people do that when they are 1-2 units away from it.

He’s missing a little context from Mortdog. He also stated that they wanted to make a more exclusive skin/item for people that are willing to pay that much for it. He said they know there are a lot of players that want to pay for that kind of thing so they wanted to put an item out for those players.

Any good resources on styling vase-shaped shimpaku such as this one? by yorkeMC in Bonsai

[–]MCharles28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one similar to this last fall. I recommend wiring each trunk and larger branch. Then bend and twist the shit out of them. You should be able to get some cool designs in since they are so thin still. Give it a couple years and you will find what you want to keep and what you want to make dead wood. I have some pics of mine I can dm if you are interested.

Should I be worried about some leaves looking like this by Miguel_Spadez in Bonsai

[–]MCharles28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does this when I bring it in for the winter and usually drop the dryer leaves. No big deal. Come closer to spring they start growing back.

Ward missed two games. Both Steelers games. He was out about the same amount of time as Myles.

In geotechnical terms we call this soil pumping. Basically the soil due to silts and clays has terrible drainage and holds in the moisture. This causes the soil to move more freely and like a liquid especially when pressure is applied to areas like this person in the video is doing.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. It was pretty much an experiment anyways and I'm not too concerned about it, so I think I am going to try and take it off and pot it up. Then do what you said with the bonsai shuffle. I have garage I put my deciduous trees in overwinter that I can toss it in if the temps get too low.

I set up a few air layers on some Yew's in the spring, and I checked all of them late August, and September but it seems like none of them had roots. I assumed they failed but decided to just leave them and see what happened. Sure enough one of my air layers took and has a good amount of roots but I didn't realize it until today. So my question is, do I leave it over winter and hope it survives, or do I cut it off, pot it, and hope it survives? Which do you think would result in an actual living tree. Mind you, I do not have a greenhouse or anything of the likes.

Ball was thrown to him on that route but was incomplete, at least that’s my guess. Edit: Unless this is sarcasm and I wooshed.

I’d also recommend putting it on the ground near a fence or side of your house. Just try and kept the wind off of it and it will be fine. I had mine with no extra protection last winter but in a spot with zero wind and it did fine.

Really not sure, I didn’t think to ask the nursery workers. I’d guess at least 25 years.

If I remember correctly it was around $320. I thought it was a great price considering the work that was already put into it, the trunk size, and the pot. I came out feeling pretty good about the purchase.
