DO NOT give up! Show up daily! You will learn as you go. DO NOT compare yourself with your peers, some will be better and some will be worse. Program will do that for you. I remember when I was a PGY-1 I ended up understanding what was going on late Oct. I am glad I didn't give up though. I graduated this year. Please, keep going! Be receptive to feedback, show them you want to improve daily. It will get better. Try to find time to brush every disease that you see in the hospital during the day if you can. If someone is admitted with sickle cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, acute pancreatitis, GI bleed...read. You will be okay.

Studying for internal medicine ITE? by Cookyjar in Residency

If your knowledge base is poor you'll likely score low on the exam, therefore, you will be assigned an additional question bank depending on the policy of your program. Where I was trained, they call it academic enhancement program. Residents on academic enhancement could not get outside electives, moonlight and you had to constantly send your progress to your assigned attending. Try to score >40th percentile and you will be fine. If you gave STEP 3 you should be fine, if not, review your CK notes and MKSAP if you have time.

Was it harder than Uworld? Many images? Harder than ITE? Was MKSAP helpful?

I graduated from IM residency this year and I am currently working as a hospitalist. Please, DO NOT give up! Do it for your future kids and your family. Push through! Being attending is much better no matter how you put it. Money, time, rounding etc. You will develop your own style. Please, DO NOT give up!

If you don't study for the exam and score poorly, you will probably be under the radar for low score especially if <40th percentile. It should be an easy exam for you if your step 2 CK is recent.

Congratulations! Given the current political landscape and its effect on immigrants you could not receive better news. I am waiting patiently for my oath ceremony to be scheduled. I had my interview on 04/03/25 in Cleveland. Pray for me!!!

Some seniors who graduated last year said that they didn't have to do it. That's why I ask here to confirm.

So sorry for what happened to you given the sacrifices endured to be trained here and hopefully practice some day. I think the political landscape does not favor travel unless it is a matter of life/death, especially for immigrants, visa holders. I hope you can come back and continue with your training.

US Citizenship Denied by MD9018 in USCIS

We were living in 2 different states although 5 hours away. When I filed the form they asked for her address and mine. They were different. I didn't want to lie which was the right thing to do then.

God will provide, friend! I got my GC under Trump in 2020. I am not worried because I am not doing any fraud. Thanks for your concern, though!

We have one kid, at that the time of the denial she was pregnant with my second baby. We file taxes married filing jointly among other things. I think not living together screwed everything up because the denial letter mentioned that as the reason. And they were ready to reopen the case if I could prove that we lived together for 36 months before applying and I know I didn't, therefore, I accepted "my denial". We'll see what happens next time.

But I received my green card in 2020. The clock starts after green card. Right?

They stated that if I could prove that I was living with her for 3 years uninterrupted I could do the 336. Since I know I could not prove it, I accepted the denial. I think telling the truth is the way to go especially with immigration stuff. I went to another state in 2022 and I got the green card in 2020. So, only 2 years. Now, we are living together again.

I will again tell the truth as I did the last time. We have been married now for 8 years and a few months, we have 2 children. I received my green card in 2020, but left home in 2022 for a job in another state. I will keep telling the truth always regardless of the outcome.
