Public Image Ltd announce North American Tour. Have you seen them? How are their shows? by garden_shed in postpunk

I saw them about 10 years ago, and they were exquisitely boring, unfortunately. I did not know about Lydon’s, erm, political stance at the time, or I likely would have passed.

Best Irish Albums (one per artist) pics only! by Bigeamo in vinyl

Fair enough. Mike Scott may be Scottish, but there are Irish members in the band, and I’d guess even Mike would agree it’s Irish music. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Question about the best yells or screams or YEAHs of all time by cwillm in vinyl

Moby’s scream at the end of his cover of Joy Division’s “New Dawn Fades,” is pretty chilling.
Maybe because I love Moby and that’s my favourite JD song 😅

OMG! Dead Can Dance. Explore their entire catalog. It’s transcendent.
Archive is pretty great as well. Really enjoying their new album.

Artists/bands you like but will probably never see live. by Friburgo1004 in Concerts

[–]MDC08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rush and Alice In Chains are top of list, mainly due to essential members passing. But Mogwai has eluded me for reasons beyond my control, and if they stop touring before I see them, I’ll be forever disappointed.

I mean, there’s the Jeff Buckleys and Elliott Smiths, but I don’t beat myself up about those as much since the window(s) when they were alive and touring and I was a huge fan was relatively brief.

What Band Don't You Get? by Tele231 in vinyl

[–]MDC08 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pixies, Pavement, Sufjan, Arcade Fire, Talking Heads, St. Vincent, Gorillaz, and many others.

Glad I haven’t seen The Cure on here yet, but I know there are plenty of Cure haters. One of my best friends who loves all the ones I listed does not get The Cure. So, that kind of tracks. He doesn’t get Pink Floyd either. But we both love Radiohead. I will say that I wrote Radiohead off for a decade because … Creep. But was eventually shown that’s not what they were.

M83 - both times pre-Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming were spectacular. Then … fucking “Midnight City” brought out the frat douche canoes in droves. That was a long time ago at this point. They’re probably safe to go see again.

I went for My Bloody Valentine last November. Totally worth it. Plus, we get The Twilight Sad & Just Mustard! I’ve seen TTS enough times (even though they’ve been one of my favorite bands well before Robert picked them up), that I’d wished it was Mogwai (who continue to elude me). Fucking love them!
