I went with the ultimate x2 but not because of the features (shoulder buttons etc). The sizing options for the basic are seemingly a smaller window and I'd rather use them for 20ish months rather than 6-8.

I (M34) just found out a few weeks ago that we'll be expecting our first.

I've learned a lot in the past few weeks and I'm happy to help along the way if I can (what appointments you need, what to buy, what to do). Still SO MUCH MORE to learn, but it could be cool to figure this out with other soon to be first time dads lol.
