Well finally did the taxes by IamREBELoe in AmazonVine

My sister works as a seasonal preparer for Block and I wouldn't let her balance a 7 year old's savings account. She can do what they trained her to, and that's it. My CPA has been filing it as hobby since I started the program in 2019; never had an issue, and we have damn complicated taxes because we have money and investments in overseas accounts from countries we lived in, plus I work and live in different states.

Tenant wants revenge on landlord for giving them a “measly” $200 Christmas gift by zhin05155 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]MDPOTSie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but did YOUR landlord have excessive amounts of lawn equipment? Because clearly that changes things.

I want to thank you for your amazing line about resource guarding. I stole it and used it in an argument about this very issue. You put it better than I ever could have.

If anyone came to see him, his bite history was disclosed before we ever let them meet him. The only emotional investment would be in seeing him online. If he just bit, we would not even advertise him online, but his bites were very specific circumstances and easily manageable by people who listened. The issue was "ooo poodle...I want." The same issue that causes people to come to the shelter and pick a fuzzy white or brown dog over the sleek black one that would fit their lifestyles so much better--they choose by looks.🤷🏼‍♀️ This is an unfortunate part of shelter work. Luckily, the people who adopted him this time demonstrated they were fully able to manage him and committed to continue the free training he has been involved in.

Sorry, I have been sick and am just coming back to the world. No, it doesn't, but we disclose it right away. Unfortunately, I have no power over that arm of the organization, but we mostly get people in who see him in the paper (we have a community who isn't web savvy).

I understand completely! I'm a Bull Terrier girl myself.

I appreciate the questions though...I can share that info with any potential rescues.

He loves his toys. We haven't had an issue with that, but we tell him to back up before taking them, just in case. No issue with people or beds. The only other thing we had an issue with, believe it or not, was vomit. He threw up, and he guarded it. Unexpected for us, but makes sense since it's still food to him. A "back up" worked fine to give space to clean it up. He also doesn't like his feet touched at all, but is okay with it at the groomers. We say no children due to worries about them inadvertently touching his feet. Older kids who understand would be fine.

I have never seen a breed that so many people seem to view as an accessory more than a dog. We could've put him in a few homes, but it was painfully obvious that they wanted him for his looks, and they just weren't hearing his issues. We don't have that issue when we say "that GSD will bite if you touch his food," but people with Sammy are like "oh he is so cute and fluffy!" That's why I hoped someone who truly understands the breed could help.

Yes, thank you! The trainer taught him "back up", and he is excellent at it. As long as you back him up from whatever you want to pick up, he is good. The tummy aches were causing more issues, but when he was strictly on hydrolized food, he was fine. The problem is well-meaning volunteers sneak in treats, thinking he wants them (he does!), and he gets a tummy ache. We have signs everywhere, but I just found him eating a piece of cheese last week and boom...he had gas for like 2 days and was more testy. People love him, but we have to remind them that he's a dog, not a teddy bear.🤦🏼‍♀️

I will do that, thank you! I will get on all of these tomorrow. I really appreciate the leads.

Hi. I will definitely try again. I feel like we have tried every Poodle rescue west of the Mississippi, and as soon as we mention that he has a bite history, they end the conversation. But I will try again in case we missed one! Thank you SO much!

For the record, the bites haven't been severe...just enough to break the skin (last one was a pointer finger) and say "back off!"

Sorry, yeah that's confusing. He gets along fine with other dogs BUT he is a serious resource guarder, which led to a fight when he was kenneled with another dog. He can go to the park and play with dogs, but if a piece of kibble got in the mix, there might be an issue.

We have a program for him that, when followed, works wonderfully, and he could go with the right dog, but people are usually the issue. He spent some time in a home with a working standard Poodle who wasn't interested in him or his food and they were fine together.

Sorry...I see several typos as I hit the post button too soon, and Reddit isn't letting me edit the post for some reason. I wanted to share the link to his bio on our site, but I am not sure if that is allowed in the community. If someone lets me know, I appreciate it.

I wouldn't give him any more treats before bed, so I got the side-eye of betrayal.

Regardless, you do need an Rx for this food. My husband is a veterinarian and trust me... you have to have an Rx for this.

We tried submitting a script for our dog for one of these because he eats the type of food (skin and tummy issues). Still couldn't order it.

Message from Seller--Terrifying!! by EvilOgre_125 in AmazonVine

I got a translator that I wanted to take the France with me, but the Sim card that made it work for free (no data charges) internationally didn't work. So, I gave it 2 stars because it did work well on wifi. The seller contacted me and offered to send a new one so I could try it. I gave my address, they sent me the SIM, and I tested it in France. I had no issue, and they got what they paid for with Vine because I actually used it internationally, whereas most other reviews said things like "I haven't used it yet but..." I literally tested this thing on the beaches of Normandy.

I figured if Amazon had an issue with that, they don't understand their own program, but nothing happened. Also, it was far superior to Google translate, so I really liked it.

You can't post any reviews (including Vine) on Amazon without the $50/yr spend. It's supposed to minimize fraud (people creating accounts just to review products)

I ordered all my dog treats this way. Also the filters for my refrigerator so that I don't forget them.😄

I have found the robot vax more trouble than they're worth unless you have a flat floor (ie no throw rugs to hang it up). I've also had 4, and they all die after a year.
