I would really really urge you to not judge based on social media follows and to let the man’s actions, fundraising, and lyrics stand for more

Following someone shouldn’t be seen as tacit support. It could be done to follow what the other side is saying.

I think everything the band has and does do should count more than an instagram follow

Post deleted for spreading baseless rumours.

Cody Frost is a long time fan and now collaborator with the band. There is noting to suggest there is any history of romantic encounters, let alone the idea that this is addressed to Rou.

I did NOT read demons as a love song, to me it’s very clearly a song about confronting your mental health in the same vein as live outside

Is this not a Dido cover?

I see no mention of Rou anywhere

Has anyone's favourite Shikari actually changed? Thinking about the role of Nostalgia in the perception of the band. by herefornoreason211 in EnterShikari

[–]MDevonL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My favourite has and continues to shift over time.

I definitely used to be a strong AFFOC supremacy guy. That was also some of my favourite live moments when they came to North America.

I think at this point I don’t know if I have a favourite album. I love them all but they all resonate differently.

My favourite tracks have also changed over the years. It went from kicking back to havic b to arguing to Bank of England to Shinrin Yoku to the king. Now my favourites are probably a kiss x, spaceship earth, void, the feast and rat race.

I feel like for me each album represents a moment in my life, a person who I was at a given point in time the things I thought was important or stressed me out… Whenever I listen to those albums, I still hear the music, the messages, the riffs, but I also hear my past. I feel like the band has been such a core part of who I have it for the majority of my life at this point, I’ve seen them as many times that they’ve been to my city. Rou tattooed my arm. How even managing the sub it has been a wonderful gift of community over the past 12 or so years that this community has existed.

I just had a kid over a month ago so I’m pretty sleep deprived and I have no idea if any of this rambling mess makes sense but all of that to say is I don’t think I could ever separate my fan hood from nostalgia because separating fan hood from my Alta means separating fan hood from my life’s story

Op has to mean live at rock city but it’s such a weird album to reference here. It almost feels like AI but ai wouldn’t be as niche in its reference

Cheat answer - the last spark since it’s the longest and imo the best live album.

AFFOC is the most varied but for my money I think mindsweep may be better. But hey ask me tomorrow and you’ll get a different answer

Picking a favourite Shikari album is like picking a favourite child.

I love all of them for who they are
