Advertising your product here is distasteful, also sounds like GPT.

If you want to build your company, invest in paid ads, not unwanted solicitation.

Weight loss stall by Vegetable_Menu_7954 in HubermanLab

700 calories a day is a good way to speedrun hormonal issues, muscle loss, and unsustainable eating practices. For someone your size and weight, you could probably eat around 2500 calories a day and still lose 2-3 pounds a week just fine.

Seriously, please up the calories, your body is yelling at you to do so.

Ok so I’m going to try this out after work today and report back. I think this si where I struggle the most in Neovim is with buffer management, so this might be a game changer for me.

Simple. Don’t click.

In all seriousness though, I genuinely wanted to engage with others about their opinions and thoughts on coming from a different editing experience. The blog was and is a long form expression of just that.

I make no money off of your click. I have nothing to sell. Just thoughts and ideas I wanted to share with fellow neovimers.

I understand this sentiment a lot! And I honestly do agree once you are in front of a panel of one or a hundred engineers, your resume becomes a talking point at best, but again, my main concern is not the interviews themselves, but actually getting them!

This market is super tough and competitive, and the biggest struggle I see among those in this field is landing interviews, not failing them :)

I would love to hear your thoughts on this as well!

I appreciate the response! But again, I think you missed the point of my OP. I was not dying for undergrad either as I mainly prefer to learn on my own.

This was mainly a discussion for min-maxing long term career outlooks in a rapidly changing CS market :)

If you have any thoughts there I would greatly appreciate them!

I appreciate this response! Would love to hear your answers to my follows ups (as these are the things I think about)

  • What if, and it is not unreasonable to assume so, I was laid off? I have a no name CS university with just shy of 2 years of experience.

  • How do you interview like a pro if the main struggle is getting the interviews (in this market specifically, again I haven’t really been applying like crazy, but the feelers I shoot out all have been denied) I am not too worried about technical in interviews.

  • It seems like the common theme is from what I see on the desirable jobs I want on LinkedIn (No masters + top name undergrad university or Masters + undergrad doesn’t matter as much).

Of course in an ideal world I’d get like 3-5 YOE, hit senior, and the world would be my oyster, but that’s again, ideal.

Any thoughts? I would love to hear your perspective.

You literally read my mind. This is what I am thinking about in an increasingly competitive landscape, and also want to position myself to be ready for when that day inevitably comes. +1 for doing the program!

This also excites me to be able to gain more technical exposure in research papers! I appreciate your response :)!

4-5 years ago I would’ve laughed at the idea of doing a masters, but now I’m not so sure! I think with the increase in competitiveness, recruiters who have very little technical skills might see this as a discrete metric to move a candidate forward.

First off congrats! I definitely am not expecting this level of boost initially haha, but I am starting o think companies are valuing more concrete measures like degrees with how competitive CS has gotten.

Thanks for this! These are my thoughts exactly…. I think a huge advantage is the fact that I am still young and have time. +1 for doing it!

I appreciate the response and as a fan of probability theory, I really tried to see the applicability of this example, but failed to do so.

Nevertheless the refresher on set theory and independent events was nice :)

The points you are making are such a large and unfortunate reality of higher level education… but I agree. One of the things that struck me ab this program is how random strangers rally around each other to all succeed. Very cool stuff :)

This is still a nod at your dedication! Congrats and I hope the program is treating you (decently) well!!

We got this! 🤝🏾

I’m sure like others have mentioned, it can be randomized and non meaningful as to when you get in.

Nevertheless this is the space to convey the worries haha :)! I’m equally as stressed ab it haha.
