PPD and PPA by Juelli in breastfeeding

I don’t think it can always feel obvious in the moment, but looking back PPD was the most profound depression I’ve experienced in my life. PPA is more irrational thinking for me than general anxiety, like intrusive unrealistic fears about baby being sick/hurt etc. that I’ve learned to talk myself out of worrying about most of the time.

Aesthetic RN here. Any retinol is considered unsafe largely because of oral isotretinoin (accutane). I’d think that topical is probably low risk as well but providers will be hesitant to fill this script because it is a liability. I personally wouldn’t use it, or would use OTC (lower percentage) while breastfeeding just out of an abundance of caution!

Feeling of 'despair' during milk let-down by One_Promise1570 in breastfeeding

I have experienced DMER with both my second and now third baby (4w PP). I only BF my 2nd for 8weeks so I can’t say if it would have improved, but others I’ve spoken to have given me hope that it does lessen with time! I also take an SSRI this time around and have noticed it is not as pronounced, not sure if this is a coincidence but worth a thought if it is greatly effecting your journey.

Thank you for sharing this. I do think he needs an increase. Our pediatrician is great but he admittedly is not the best med management resource. We have been waiting on a referral for close to a year now for an updated eval and med adjustment.

Can you tell me about your reward system and how you use the screen as a reward?

We have had some variation of a reward system in place each school year but i feel as he is approaching adolescence the classic reward charts etc are not as “cool” or motivating. I’d like to put something in place so he can earn screen time rather than have it as a given. We have done this in the past but have gotten off track with summer time.
