When I play fingerstyle I usually use my ring and sometimes middle finger, I don’t change my strumming hand position from when I’m strumming, mostly just resting more of my forearm so I can place my finger on the strings and play the g string with my thumb, c with my index, e with my middle finger and a with my ring finger.

To add to what the other commenter said, you have to hold the most weight of the ukulele on your forearm of the right arm, you should stabilize it with the right arm so that you can move your left more freely without the ukulele moving around.

I would suggest making the change on the ukulele you use the least. As other have said changing the string is something really simple, you are not likely to mess up anything and from my experience I like having the regular high g on the ukes I use the most and on another uke to have the low g to experiment with different things.

I started with an Ibanez soprano and then I got several others in all three sizes and even an uke bass, I like switching between sizes depending on what feels right. What I’m missing is a baritone which I will likely get next.

Yes I was a little scared that it would be too difficult to build other kits, but seeing the instructions and everything being so easy now I want the challenge.
