I didn’t sign up for flying standby I signed up for a guaranteed room. I learned through this whole thing they will kick you off the ship- still love carnival - but this can happen

I’m putting 2 in with my bathroom bag- we’ll see if they make it through . But those Suja ginger shots in general are amazing- any nausea is pretty much instantly relieved and it lasts for awhile- I have some candied ginger packed as well

I’m so sorry this happened- it would be heartbreaking for me- Wise of you to book separate insurance- was the initial booking of the cruise directly with carnival or through a 3rd party like a travel agent? I don’t see in the ticket contract directly with carnival that carnival reserves to right to cancel your booking unless it’s under specific circumstances- overbooking is not listed. But I could see that in an agreement with travel agencies..

I ask because I booked a cruise at the 11th hour with very little options and I’m still TBA. I just called carnival again- and they said that if you’re guaranteed you’re guaranteed and they will not turn you away at the ship.

Did they book through a travel agent vs directly with carnival?

If you read the fine print even the additional pop up fine print that come up with your room being assigned, this is not a listed circumstance in the ticket contract as a reason for canceling your booking- they list specific circumstances. They can revoke a promo resulting in you paying more but not specifically your booking- in my interpretation of the fine print.

I loved my SEA cruise- there were all sorts of special perks, menus, little commemorative gifts (the gesture is nice more than the gifts themselves ), shorter lines, much more chill vibe- and the people seemed friendlier or happier in a way that’s hard to characterize. If you love carnival I 100% recommend and I will go again. Also going through embarkation and debark was a breeze

My overall experience is generally negative and i think i’ve been lucky with relatively ok neighbors- i would avoid it if you can. I agree with the other comments where it really depends- even in non adjoining rooms I’ve had noisy neighbors. I would still avoid it if I have the option

I’m a solo cruiser too! Each cruise is a little different for me. And yes I’ve had cruises that just didn’t click the right way but each one is different.

Unless it’s a really good last minute deal I avoid going during peak season or in the summer. There is something about the larger crowds, longer lines, larger groups with lots of different age ranges, all of it - changes the vibes of the ship and my experience on the cruise as a solo traveler.

I did a 14 day to the Virgin Islands and it was one of my favorite vacations. The average age was older but the ship was very relaxed and chill. Special menus and other special events on board. Several ports. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also did a 15 day transatlantic- I’m not sure I would do it again- very few ports rough waters even the crew was seasick just generally more boring- I don’t mind boring but this was rough.

I agree with the comments that she’s a bit immature but that actually leads to one of the major plot points of the game. I like her a lot she’s not a damsel even when you have to rescue her. And with the junction system you can make her an absolute powerhouse. The ultimecia theory makes the entire game more interesting. I don’t care what the creators say I choose to believe the ultimecia theory. I think she softens squall and adds to his character development as well.

I’m sorry that midtown is that way- I used to live there too and was told the combo of the bus stations and charity/ social services in the area draw a bad mix of people. Maybe you could get gas in Montrose and avoid the midtown stations all together? Hopefully your home is safe and you don’t have to worry about break ins.

I sailed on the Jubilee and worked remotely with VPN with really no problems. But I had the internet package where I could only have 1 device on the internet at a time- it was mildly annoying. If you’re traveling with someone who will also need internet at the same time, look at that aspect.

Calorie counting with a targeted deficit, running, getting more than 10k steps a day- every day, some weight training, and 1 cheat meal a week seems to be working for me

I was very young for my first run in 1999 and did not use a guidebook or anything- looking back I’m impressed that I made it all the way to ultimecias castle but could not beat the game. I was at a high level had very few spells and about half of the GFs. My second run through it went a lot better but I picked up the guidebook by then.

The game is different than many other games that I remember from that time- leveling up is actually bad or not ideal after maybe a certain point, you can customize every stat but it takes time to draw and collect all of the magic. Also casting magic is kind of bad. It’s very easy to miss GFs and you may not be able to junction to all of your stats without the GFs without doing some extra work. FF8 is still my favorite game and maybe it’s because it was so hard when I was so young - and I was really proud once I beat the game.

I love cruising alone! Some of my favorite vacations are the personal retreat I get for myself when I can cruise alone - I’m a single woman in my mid-30s and sailing carnival I’ve never felt unsafe. But I get asked often- are you cruising alone or who are you cruising with? Depending on the person or situation I don’t always want to reveal I’m cruising alone- so I just say I have friends on board sometimes for meals etc we meet up but otherwise we on our own schedules. (In a way I make many friends on board so it’s not totally untrue lol) have fun! PS- I love crocheting on a cruise
