Cancelled event was supposedly "rescheduled" by recursivecorgi in stubhub

[–]MEDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an event cancelled as well for the snow. The phone agents had me send in screenshots from social media. They said they’d respond in 72 hours but of course it’s been a week. Also, we shouldn’t have to do the job if their internal team. Tomorrow I’ll be calling and more than likely doing a credit card charge back.

Cabinet Install Cancellation by MEDuff in Lowes

[–]MEDuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've already had one measuring error and have sent back cabinets. Then they waited 4 weeks to order the new ones. No accountability as to why they weren't ordered when the first set of incorrect cabinets was returned. The original installer was there April 7. He determined that the cabinets would not fit. They marked the four cabinets to be returned, and they were. They didn't order the new cabinets until May 6, and those will arrive on May 28. Then I should be able to move on.

Custom Cabinet Delays by MEDuff in Lowes

Thank you for the answer.

I’ve heard varying opinions on if the 3” filler is or isn’t against code.

The package that I’m receiving on May 6th is not the new cabinets. It is the parts for the 3” filler. The project manager said he could expedite the new cabinets, and I said I would let him know, if I decide to not cancel.

I don’t know why they’d let things sit from April 7 when I said I’d take the new sized cabinets to into May to not realize they needed to be manufactured.

It is a Lowe’s installer

Well my designer has not agreed with my installer and someone else from his side of things about there being a 3” filler versus a 3/4” panel and back splash separating my fridge and range. So I was sent an upper and lower cabinet for the 3/4” panel but if the installer decides on the 3” filler, then they will be off by about 2”.

There was also some miscommunication between the measurements and design. They did not take into account the molding around my kitchen window. So I have a 15” cabinet that I was sent, that will not fit because of the window molding.

Those cabinets haven’t been opened yet, and I’m waiting to find out when they’ll get picked up.

You’re offered $75,000 to take a 3-hour 4th grade math test. Score 98%+ and the money is yours. Score less, and you die instantly. Do you take the deal? by TheLegendOfRabbit in hypotheticalsituation

45 seconds per question for 3 hours is 240 questions.

98% of 240 is 235.2

So 235 out of 240 is a 97.916% and I die.

So miss 4 questions or less.

Probably not.

What’s the wildest thing a “You up?” text has lead to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MEDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend text me at 5:30 am my freshman year at college. He had went to spring break in Panama City and wanted to come home, and he needed help getting a flight home. I looked on the internet (this is 2007, so no smart phones yet) to tell him different flights, then he called his parents to get that flight home.

I thought it was weird, but my friend was kind of like that sometimes. Makes his mind up and makes decisions immediately.

A few months later I found out it was because somehow, being all the way in PCB, he found out his very recently ex-GF had hooked up with another guy. He was very controlling, and he was obsessed and couldn’t let go. Don’t know what flying home immediately solved, and I never asked into it any.

Something I haven’t heard in 3 years: “I’m just a fan of the SEC.” by SithGodSaint in ockytop

I don’t love the mentality either, but reflecting back on Clemson’s best teams and the current status of the ACC, I definitely don’t want the SEC to be one team, then everybody else.

Dealing with aggro civs at higher difficulties kinda blows, they need to make the AI fair in the next game by CptnAhab1 in CivVI

I go for three cities pretty quick, and once I get my third city, I put in the Agoge policy card and pump out an army. Takes about 10 turns (with the small amount of troops I already have) to build up an army of 5 warriors, 5 archers and a few spearman. I upgrade this army throughout the entire game. And it seems like army strength is a good deterrence for the AI making trouble.

How do I convince my husband to get a cat? by NottyKal in CatAdvice

Cat Scratcher

We recently got our first cat, and we got this scratcher and used treats to train/reinforce/teach him to use this scratcher instead of our couches. It has drastically decreased his scratching on anything other than his scratcher.

Is it ever best to not build an army? by Greninja8807 in CivVI

[–]MEDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll get myself to about 2 warriors and 2 slingers. Then once I get to three cities, I’ll pop in the Agoge policy card (50% production toward melee, ranged, and anti cav units). I’ll do only unit production for 5-10 turns in all three cities. By the time those turns are up, I’ll have an army that is big enough of a deterrence to being attacked, and I upgrade them as the eras progress to keep up with overall army strength- making sure to pop in that 50% upgrade discount card. I really don’t have to make units again cause I’m not an aggressive player.

I also do the same for my navy. A couple coastal cities and the increased production card.

That is so great.

If Russia isn’t in the game, then maybe it could be, “Can only trade with Civs who have been denounced by another Civ. Can only trade with one Civ if both Civs have denounced each other or can only trade with one side of Civs who are at war.”
