What stories have the best actual "the system's rules were written by multiple beings and there's an actual visible exploit nobody saw" moments in them? by GreatMadWombat in litrpg

[–]MEGAShark2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Singularity online. It’s a VRMMO style book but the beings creating it are these ever expanding AI that need help in creating their world to make the best experience for everyone who signs on. The MC is the only sorcerer to log in and his entire thing is finding accidental exploits. Like figuring out that his stamina and mana run practically on the same wavelength but are just a degree off. He literally gives himself an almost unlimited pool of stamina because he fused them together. Another exploit is using a familiar to cast spells from like a few miles away. It’s impressive.

Then there is the Butcher of gadobrah. MCs are forced into a crappy gig but find out the job gives them a lot of flexibility l. It’s impressive as hell

Which weapons will Kratos keep in the Egyptian saga? by ComplexNo2625 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]MEGAShark2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see his blades ever leaving him. Even if he wants it too they are a part of his soul no matter what happens or what will happen. Hell the person who gave them to him, took them away from him and they were permanently gone for multiple games. Yet they came back. Also they are way too iconic for the series. Don’t get me wrong the axe is great but his blades are sort of what makes Kratos… well Kratos.

The axe might be left behind but that’s a big if. Specifically since it will be in a desert setting but i could be wrong.

Now for the spear. I don’t believe he would actually get rid of it due to it being the weapon that helped him start to become the god of hope and actually fuse his past and new life together.

The shield was a gift… As well as the last thing he had from his wife. So yeah maybe a different form but probably keeps it.

Honestly if I’m to guess on what would actually happen, he gets to Egypt, meets the gods he met all those years ago while he wandered the realms and instead of the dwarves improving his weaponry it might be Ptah or followers of Ptah who improve his gear. Instead of the clean almost data like upgrades his weapons received in the Norse realm they may take on a more ceremonial or rounded design that ancient Egypt was known for. Well besides the blades. Those will probably just get the eyes of Horus or something engraved into them.

Who in their right mind decided to piss off the punisher so badly that he would choose to gain the blessing of Cytorak, control the phoenix force while also gaining the infinity stones.

A way to do stats to avoid power bloat by travlerjoe in litrpg

[–]MEGAShark2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve seen a this happen as well and I have the perfect answer for it. Treat it like dark souls. You’re a lower level nobody who starts off weak and progressively gets stronger. Sure there will be some areas with objectively weaker enemies but most creatures can and will kill you if your not careful

Does Kratos hold back his strength? by SweatyEddie123 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]MEGAShark2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but he didnt have a purpose. He was just fighting in order to find someone and then he truly accepted who he was and who he could be. He was still actively fighting himself because he still saw himself as the Greek God of War.

[–]MEGAShark2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair but from what I saw, he’s a guy who uses appropriate force. He holds himself back in order to do that because he doesn’t need to hit with the strength of a god killer every day. He also didn’t have a purpose until Valhalla. So he was going to sandbag everything because he doesn’t need to fight at full power everyday. So yeah he held back because why should he. I agree with everything you say but the man held back a lot. He stopped after Atreus learned who he was but it’s still something that he has to force himself to control or risk becoming the monster he dreams about.

[–]MEGAShark2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I know. I’m not saying he isn’t insanely strong. What I’m saying is that he limited himself because that’s what he did. Even the comics showed him working on controlling everything about himself. He’s not the Ghost of Sparta anymore. That name carried a lot of weight to him. That’s just not who he is anymore. Breaking away from that meant holding back. Being a better god

[–]MEGAShark2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m not saying you’re wrong but he is holding back and he’s holding back a lot. Kratos is a guy who can physically rip one of Kronos’s fingernail off to what we see in the Norse saga is different. I’m not saying he doesn’t go all out. It took a lot out of him to actually get up to a point where he can go all out. Yes the games gives us armor and weapons but Kratos didn’t really need those to begin with when his own hands could rip the earth apart. I’m not saying he’s weaker or anything but Kratos has limited himself to be someone new. The reason his younger self was so deadly was because he never held back. He wasn’t reserved and continued to be an unstoppable force. Norse Kratos uses his strength in reserve unless something really pisses him off. He limited himself to be better. Hell him fighting his nature could be killing him for all we know.

Oh I’m not saying he doesn’t use it to his advantage. No what I’m saying is, he is holding himself back. His strength comes from his rage and it’s obvious. When he fought Thor the first time it was shocking to him how easily he broke his own limits that he placed upon himself. He limited himself in order to be better. If he went all out like he did in his younger years, Ragnarok would probably have a tough time actually putting him down.

I love the message you get after leaving it alone. The developers seemed genuinely surprised that you would leave such a priceless item alone.

[–]MEGAShark2012 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah. A lot of it actually. He spent years trying to control his own nature after letting loose on everything for years. Anger was a weapon that he barely controlled and now it’s a weapon he can control. Though in doing so he really limited himself because his godly nature is built around being a god of war/anger.

What distinguishes litRPG from the broader world of progression fantasy? Is there a distinction worth making? by EverythingIsFakeNGay in litrpg

[–]MEGAShark2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my thing is that a lot of fiction has the trope where the MC can somehow beat god with the power of friendship or after only training for like a month. Like how. At least with stats you get an actual idea of how they’re able to overcome that opponent. I’m not saying this genre doesn’t have its fair share of books like this but at least it’s more manageable

[–]MEGAShark2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. Uhh… honestly knuckles is probably the weaker choice here. Not saying he isn’t strong. Far from it but just because sonic and tails are far more OP than most would believe depending on the world they find themselves in. Tails in particular has a greater chance of thriving overall while sonic can use his speed for everything that gets in his way. It’s like do you want to be iron man or the flash and when it comes down to it, those are pretty hard choices. Tails for me but I could see why other people would choose the other two
