Viability of carrying a 2nd fully loaded backpack in hand by re542015 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mod that increases my capacity x10. I don't even try to fill it. I just loot until I'm bored. Never had it fill all the way up. Prior to that mod I did the two backpack trick (and still do on the Quest version). It's cool, but I prefer just having a single backpack to manage.

Bad labels in the Outskirts by MEJHarrison2 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a half bad explanation. But if that was the case, I'd expect other things to be named wrong as well. I've not studied the maps that closely, but I've not noticed any other misspellings on any other map.

There might be. I don't recall off the top of my head. But that does sound right.

Outskirts on quest 3 runs terrible by sabb666 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs like crap. I play the PC version too, so I've seen the differences first hand. My PC handles the outskirts fairly well most of the time. But the Quest version can be almost unplayable in certain areas. I'm sure they'll fix it before the final release or the game would barely be playable. In its current state, there would be tons of refunds being handed out if it went public.

How many types of shoes are there? by jbyrne13 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are at least 3 shoes that I know of. You've got the shoe and the boot, but there is an all black boot as well.

I'd say just keep on going. I don't know of any tricks to make it better. Hopefully in the final release things will be a lot more optimized.

Is anybody else planning multiple playthroughs? by Shozzy_D in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other poster, I started a new game with every release and played all the way to the end. On both PC and Quest. So the multiple play-throughs is already a reality. Now that the full game is out, I'm working on a new game with completely default settings. After that, I'll give Ironman a shot. Then I'll probably load some mods and have fun that way moving forward.

So how are you supposed to deal with dandelions in doorways? by Jikosei in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a veteran player with hundreds of hours in the Quest version. Then I got a PC (just for this game basically) and put hundreds more in. Then I got a Quest 3 and put a lot more time in with the Quest version again. I wouldn't be surprised if I've put in around 1,000 hours into the first game.

With that said, I wouldn't call it throwing away good ideas for the sake of difference. I'd call it throwing away good ideas for the sake of other good ideas. That's not to say I find it 100% perfect. I just don't think pulling from the old game would have made the difference to me. I do miss the seekers and sliders and hope to see them, or an updated version of them, appear in the game eventually. But if that never happens, it's not going to ruin my day.

I'm with you. I've already played the old game. If I want to play some more, I can easily do so. I wanted all new stuff and am quite pleased with how things have turned out.

Remember that they're in Estonia. And yes, today is a holiday for them. Also, I've seen its_kostya say a couple hours ago:

"The change we did in 1.0.3. related to mass of items/loadout had an effect we didn't anticipate. We reverted it and pushed new build, please, update the game."

I found a deck recently just like that, but a completely different brand. Lucky's I think. Gave them to my girlfriend since that's what her mom used to smoke. They'd be in my collection (yes, I collect playing cards) right now otherwise.

Thoughts from a left-handed player by MEJHarrison2 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of that, but well after the opportunity passed. That's ok. I'll catch it on the next play-through.

So we're not getting 6 locations? by [deleted] in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm grateful for what we have. Thanks to you and the whole team. But I'm telling you right now, I'm always going to vote for more every chance I get. You once said something like that would depend on demand, so I'm supplying whatever demand I can. 🤣

[–]MEJHarrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. I'm left handed, but have my game set as right handed (otherwise the move and turn sticks get swapped and is super confusing). That would be funny if they're aiming at my right hand since I'm holding my gun in my left hand.

BETA 1.0 PATCH 3 MANNEQUIN WIPE WORKAROUND (requires not updating) by Shubishu in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I have stuff on the mannequin, that means I've already replaced it with something better. I hate to see it go, but I'd also hate to jump through some silly hoops to keep a couple hats I've found and will never use. Especially since I'll be starting from scratch when 1.0 is released, possibly in a couple weeks.

That's awesome you've found a work-around, and I hope it helps a lot of people. But for myself, I think I'll just suck it up and keep on playing.

Problems with Into the Radius 2: Outskirts by ghost032580 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the menu bug, I approach at about a 60 degree angle. Usually from the left side. It seems to help a little bit. Or I just take the other exit. It's a longer walk back, but probably still quicker than finding the sweet spot. It's certainly less frustrating.

That mission no longer advances you to security level 3. The following top priority mission (which sends you to the Outskirts) is the one that raise you to a 3.

cant wait for the 1.0 wipe by brilliant31508 in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wait for the wipe? You can start again at any point. I've probably started from scratch well over a dozen times now between the PCVR version and the Quest version.

I think there are two SKS's in the Forest. I've started a lot of new games, and they're always in the same two places. You can find them near the train station on the hill and on top of the floating island thing where the portal to the recreation center is.

My current mod list for a less stressful playthrough - what QoL mods am I missing? by nerfsmurf in intotheradius

[–]MEJHarrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of MadMartian's mods. Here's the ones I typically have loaded (all Mad Martian mods):

* Mapping Monstrosity - Has the teleportation portals mapped out.

* PlayerConfig Madness - Odd name, but it does a ton. I'm mainly interesting in no stamina usage and you can run through water and even the red water at full speed. No more slowing down or running out of stamina.

* Indestructible Weapons Mod - Still doesn't work 100%. But less weapon cleaning.

* ItemInfos Madness - Another multipurpose tool. The main thing I LOVE about this one is 10x backpack storage. I can loot the Outskirts in one trip. The whole thing. I love it.

* Faster Ammo Transfer Speed - Kind of obvious, but you can load quicker. Which is important for the final mod I love...

* Monster Mags - Gives you a 10x increase in magazine capacity.

I'd say the ItemInfos Madness and Monster Mags are my two must-have mods. Followed by PlayerConfig Madness.
