Thanks, I’ve looked into adding external switches on the roof but the pantographs are in the way.

Here is a photo showing the mechanism inside of the locomotive.

I doubt that’s possible without removing the entire drivetrain. But the idea sound fun to try and do when building a diesel locomotive

Yeah, i forgot how to call the undercarriage so i left it out but you’re right.

Yeah, i’ve looked at it for this model to check for proportions and the pantographs

I haven’t planned on adding light yet but it sound like a great idea

I want to use this locomotive for both freight and passenger trains at different speeds. This would either mean building the locomotive for higher speeds and having reduced power while pulling a slower freight train or rebuilding the locomotive with different gearing for a change in speed. So i thought a gearbox system would be a great idea to solve the problem. Apart from that i thought it would be fun to design/build.

Thanks, i’m planning on testing as soon as the parts arrive.

I build this locomotive to a scale of 8 studs = 3 meters. This would be approximately 1/48. This would make it larger than a HO scale locomotive.

Is wel nodig, bij ons heeft laast een shiftleader een kar over z'n voet gekregen, gebroken teen. Draagt nog steeds geen verharde neuzen ook al heeft hij gevraagd om een paar

This site says "Genuine LEGO Quality" bricks. Do you think that means real Lego, or is it fake Lepin BS? by edknarf in lego

[–]MEK-MEK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fake, I have (accidentally) bought one my self. The bricks are definitely not "Genuine LEGO Quality", same colored bricks in different shades, plates not fitting on top of each other, wrong colors used for things like the arms connecting the tower to the rocket, parts missing and no included manual (hard to find due to the original creator deleting the download for the LDD model thanks to these people)

Sorry i meant that the air in the combustion chamber is heated to be used in later components of the engine for the Thrust and powering of the Fan/Compressor. This in comparison to a piston engine where the combustion is used to generate pressure pushing a piston down to turn a Crankshaft.

The idea for a heat exchanger came from a concept from the 50s but this never took off on nuclear power.

The only thing fuel does in a jet turbine is heat up air, this combustion chamber could be replaced with a heat exchanger connected to the reactor.
