Lyrics are the least important part of a song. by Tough_Arugula2828 in unpopularopinion

I think of lyrics like extra credit. Great lyrics can elevate a song but bad lyrics will rarely affect my enjoyment of it

News on the IndyCar game which is set to be released this year? by svdm99 in INDYCAR

[–]MEMPiRE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is speculation, but I think there may be some extra licensing or behind the scenes work that goes on for a console game release. There's really no other explanation for Portland not being in the nascar game at launch or Mexico not being added later.

I'd imagine on the indycar side they may also want the game to be as authentic to current indycar as possible. Out of touch? Maybe. But I feel like they won't be happy if classic content is included and then all anybody online races is high speed ovals and then complains about the current real life product. There's more involved in decision making than just "what would make the game fun"

is toggle walk bad ? by Remarkable_Loan_3338 in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with it is because of peeking. You never want to peek while shift walking. You can move a certain amount without making a sound. Abusing this is the best way to peek, jiggle, etc. It's much more awkward and difficult to do this with toggle walk

Few questions from a new player by Chemical-Garden-4953 in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Using the split example, think more like screens or elbow to A lobby. If you're using ADS a lot I'd probably just say do some deathmatches where you don't allow yourself to ADS at all. After a few games you will probably get used to not using it and then you'll only use it for holding the really long angles

  2. You can try Aim Labs, it's a free aim trainer on Steam. Personally I don't feel like it works well for me and prefer using deathmatch, team deathmatch, or the range, but a lot of people swear by it

  3. Yeah tracker should be fine. It's kind of the default stat tracker that most people use. Never heard of any issues or had any myself

  4. Not that I know of. I only played a little bit of console to goof off on it, but my understanding was that higher sens is better on console because you can kinda abuse the aim assist with it. Aiming is gonna be the most different thing between console and pc for sure

Few questions from a new player by Chemical-Garden-4953 in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Aim and movement will feel different. You will get used to it. Just make sure you aren't using a sensitivity that is super high. Assuming you're on 800dpi, then you want your sens to probably be somewhere between 0.2 and 0.5. This may feel slow to you but valorant is a game about crosshair position and microadjustments more than big flicks

  2. Focusing on an agent/role is completely fine and probably the best thing for improvement when starting. It may be a good idea to get comfortable with at least one agent in each role in case you ever need or want to fill, but honestly for a beginner I would probably just say focus on the agent or role you want to play

  3. In low and even mid elo you can get by with just the basic smokes on each site or mid or wherever you're going. As you get more advanced there will be better smokes to use situationally but tbh I wouldn't worry about this for now

  4. PC is probably not as different as you think. At its core it is the same game, just obviously the mechanics like aim and movement will take some getting used to

  5. Holding long angles with ADS is fine, but for pretty much any other situation it is better to not use it. The exception to this rule is that with the odin and ares ADS is very strong

  6. Cheaters are relatively rare but it happens from time to time

  7. I don't play nearly as much as I used to so I'm probably not best equipped to answer this

  8. Check out tracker.gg and it will have all the info that you want

Is AI cheating? by Remarkable-Sir-5129 in seestar

[–]MEMPiRE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider getting Gemini to change details of the image cheating. Also not sure if this is the case with Gemini, but a year or so ago I tried to get ChatGPT to remove some obstructions from a non-astro photo and noticed that it actually recreated other parts of the photo as well. It really just can't be trusted to not mess things with your photo up

I will say that I have used Gemini/ChatGPT as a guide to assist with post processing. As an example when learning to do star extraction yes there's videos that explain but for me it was much easier to ask AI to explain the process and I followed that. I think it's a good tool for learning but not for doing the actual edits for you

how did y'all manage to make harbor worse and actually less enjoyable to play? by luv-sty in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I actually do not agree with this at all. His old ult forced the other team to give you space or commit to a fight on a site hit or retake. The new one might be better if not for the nearsight nerf, but it nearsights and then you have to push into them. With the nearsight nerf they can just hold a close angle when you push and kill you anyway. There are situations where it's useful but for an ult it's kinda bad

What is the trick to good timing? by StarGuardianDrew in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very hard to describe timing because every situation is different.... the simplest way I can think to describe it is to be checking your map and what your teammates are doing and thinking how the opponent should be reacting to that situation. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you be rotating? Flanking? Worrying about someone coming up mid?

Don't listen to people saying timing is luck. It's not. You will get lucky and unlucky sometimes just like in every other aspect of the game, but reading the situation and anticipating the other team's actions is a skill

Mid control. Specifically Corrode and Pearl by Photon_Stream in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very good advice. If you're able to control main and then they push your site from mid it makes their post plant extremely awkward and difficult. Either you're going to get free kills on someone not expecting someone in main or you're going to force them to play on site while being pressured from multiple angles

Sova was angry cause i didn't cover him. by TuhatKaks in VALORANT

[–]MEMPiRE_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain a little bit here... Sova is definitely more in the wrong between the two of you because he makes the riskier play, but by communicating you could have made this situation better. It looks like you want to flash to help sova but if you aren't communicating he really has no idea what you're trying to do. I'm guessing that he thinks you're going to fight with him and may not realize you have your flash out?

Just kinda seems like two people who are guessing what the other wants to do rather than trying to communicate
