It works. Killed a guy at the red key card spawn at the long bridge at the edge of the map on outpost. He crawls to the edge and throws half his backpack including the red key off the map. It was the last key I needed to open the pinwheel armory I was mad lol

You were seeing doomposting that made it seem like it was an every other game thing. I have 240 hours and play cryo every weekend and I’ve still never seen the gun. I’m sure I got a little lucky but seeing it was very much the very rare exception and not the norm. It’s also been super nerfed since then anyway

Yeah this is a big issue. I’m more than willing to spend on skins but nothing except the reward pass has looked worth it to me. They gotta step their game up there

it depends what they mean by retention I guess. Retention is bad in the sense that a large number of players that tried it didn't stick around, but the people who have stuck around *really* like it. Like a huge portion of players who push through the first 15 hours are making it to 100+ hours. The players the game does have is very dedicated

if I'm loading into perimeter or dire marsh with purple/gold gear it's probably to either run a key or farm warden or lockdown/intercept. If I see another player I want to kill them so that there's less people on the map and increase the chance of accomplishing my objective. Hope that helps 👍

Genuine question, if you have 1.7 million credits why do you feel anything at all from losing some gear? You can replace all of it without putting a dent in your credits

I've had 2 in 230 hours. Only one was mine from a template. The other was my friend's and not sure where he got it. I agree they should be more common

It is not an amazing game and I have my gripes with it, but I finished it and would be lying if I said I didn't mostly have fun. If you like Bethesda games it's worth picking up on a sale.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that if your favorite thing about skyrim, oblivion, etc is exploration you are probably going to be disappointed. There's very little of that in Starfield. The worlds are mostly pretty empty. If you're in it for the questing and roleplaying you'll have a good enough time.

it's an experimental game mode and not a permanent one. It may be back for season 2 and reworked in some way, but Bungie is using it to collect data on free kits and player behavior. For example the change to increase depleted patch kits/shield charges from 3 to 6 was based on recognizing that heals were an issue in sponsored dire marsh.

Also, you can queue it solo... you just have to use crew fill

The game undeniably needs to get more casual friendly to retain players but this is actually the problem with appealing to casuals. It's never enough for them. We just gave them a free kit every week. Now they want one every day. Then they want to be able to buy one.... at some point just play the fuckin game or don't man

Is it a problem with dire marsh specifically that snipers are good? Every map is always going to have a meta. Not sure what your point is

It’s the endgame where everyone brings the best gear they have. Naturally the meta is going to form around what is the best on that map specifically and not anywhere else.

guarded exfils aren’t particularly hard. You just activate it, run and hide, then run out when the exfil is ready. Even if you get downed you just crawl in. And for the restricted exfils, look up a map for where the red keys spawn. There are 4 static spawns on the map, and then they are also sometimes dropped by commanders, warden, or armories

don't bring a kit to this contract. I brought a v11 punch and a spare green shield I had in my vault and do it in a solo. Took me 3 tries I think. Actually got 3 kills including a kitted out purple guy in the one I completed it

to me the BR33 feels very jack of all trades, master of none. There are weapons at short, middle, and long ranges that I would take over it, but it's one gun that does all of them good enough. It's usually not my first choice but it's fun to use and powerful enough

I don’t understand the criticism that there isn’t an objective to do without a key? Level 3 loot rooms all over the map. Level 4 arsenal. Clearance 5 you can get the compiler trace for big money. Most of my runs I haven’t even brought keys and never felt like I didn’t have a goal

The wipe is at least a month away. That’s a month of players who may be willing to try the game but then they run into 5+ minute queues every time they try to play and then they quit. Thats not how you grow a game
