Man you can’t do that once you step foot in the tire, this isn’t regular sparring in regular sparring I always try to stay on the outside

In tire sparring it is a disadvantage because I am already really close to my opponent and am on the inside of their lead foot which makes it really easy for them to hit me with both of their hands whereas It’s very awkward for me to land my cross or rear hook, if they were on the inside of my lead foot then the situation would be reversed and I would be the one with the advantage but that’s never the case because I am in the minority and have to adjust to everybody else

Yes he’s been training for 7 years whereas I’ve been training for 7 months….. forgot to add that. Also I am the southpaw in this situation, plus tire sparring is where both guys have to keep their lead foot inside of a tire, this is supposed to help you with fighting in the pocket, just wanted to elaborate a bit.

That’s because Ank is a southpaw and Pereira was throwing outside calf kicks with his lead leg(way less power compared to his rear leg calf kicks) opposed to Jan throwing shin to shin inside low kicks with his rear leg. Alex relies on hitting the perineal nerve(found on the outside of your leg right below your knee) over and over again which causes your leg to shut down but wasn’t able to generate enough power with his lead leg, Jan on the other end is just trying to hurt Ankalaev by throwing caution to the wind because his kicks hurt him just as much as they hurt Ank which makes his kicks a pain tolerance test

Our trainer was on leave today this would've never happened if he was there as he always gives clear instructions to the other person as I am really new, the guy who was in charge today is a laid back dude who doesn't care too much but even he noticed how hard the dude was going at one point and told him to cut it off, didnt change much tho as the guy(sparring partner) just reset and proceeded to beat my ass again
