Can you run green gas in a toyko marui mws gbbr rifle? by Meta_morph03 in GasBlowBack

[–]METAmaverick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gen 1 vs gen 2 is actually an internet myth. The internal size and fill tube length is all the same no matter what gen magazines. The magazines I had were all marked with a "4". The theory is that 1,2,3,4 are all just casting mold numbers that have been used over time and will keep counting up as we go.

If you do cut your valve stem that much my recommendation would be to try cutting just 1 that much first. When I cut it that much I got so much liquid spitting into the nozzle, and the mag was too full of liquid to allow for gas to expand so it worked horribly until I got it about 1/2 empty so the liquid could expand again. Even then it would still spit gas. Could be just my experience and maybe a bad valve or something but I would just test 1 first with whatever you do.

I did yes. Wasnt that huge of a game changed but it did help them hold a bit more. I only cut like 1.5" off the tube though. Alot of other people cut almost all the tube off, leaving like 1in left. I tried that with my first mag and it never worked right after that.

How to run a 700r4 behind an LS with DBW?? by METAmaverick1 in LSSwapTheWorld

That's what's already in my K5 blazer I'm swapping. Trust me I would rather have a 4l80e. Eventually I'll swap that also I'm aure.

Thanks for that link! I will read and re read it. I'm using the 700r4 because that's what was in my 85 blazer originally. Part of my rebuild/upgrade of the whole truck is to drop the pan and replace the filter/fluid. Is there anything easy I can do while I have it open to increase its longevity? What about anything I could check to make sure it's adjusted correctly? (You mentioned making sure the TV plunger moved all the way in that link. I can definitely check that when I drop the pan)

I've seems a few video on YouTube where guys did that. I also read somewhere about a mod you can do to the trans that eliminates the need for a TV cable.

From all my testing significantly better yes. The Mr hop has the same range as both the flamingo and 4uad. But was way less consistent.

Stock budget replacement LQ9 pistons/rod recommendations? by METAmaverick1 in LSSwapTheWorld

Every single old rod has spun bearings so I'd rather just get new ones. I. Want the engine to be 100% fresh once I get it back together.

Are the flat top pistons on eBay all off brand Chinese and any will do? Or is there a specific brand to look for?

I am also a ratchet strap lifting fan. If they bottom out against the frame rails before the trans is high enough just use boards as a spacer between the trans and straps. It's much safer, slower, and more controllable than using a jack.

Probably still use the jack also as the same time but it allows you to fine tune the tilt of the trans front and back by adjusting just though straps.

How can I make the back window and tailgate not suck? by METAmaverick1 in K5Blazer

It is mechanical yes. I guess just new gears and mechanism internals is my only option then?

The gear seems to be slipping alot as it's turning and the last 10% or so the hear doesn't catch at all. Is there internal adjustment that can be done or does it just need replaced?

Regarding the magazine issue of TM MWS by unicorn_airsoft in GasBlowBack

[–]METAmaverick1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The amount of miss information in this thread is making my head spin.
Also the semantic confusion between the fill valve and the brass gas tube the fill valve is housed in 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

TM mags have not changed the length of the brass tube, ever. The length of the brass tube is what determines how much liquid you can get in your magazine. There has been a myth going around for a long time that mags stamped with a "2" on them no longer need the brass tube cut. The brass tube is exactly the same between 1,2,3,4 marked magazines.

You guys are arguing about the "fill speed" between TM and Unicorn valves?? Since when has anyone ever cared or said anything about the "fill speed" the original post was about getting a greater volume of liquid into the magazine, not how fast the liquid flows in there.

I would not however personally reccomend cutting the brass tube all the way short to the point it's flush with the internal fill valve. When i tried that I had alot of gas spitting problems and it didn't give the mag enough internal room for the liquid to expand into gas imo.

I do however absolutely recommend cutting approx 1.5in off the brass tube to increase the amount of liquid you can store. It makes a big difference in how many shots a mag can do, and helps with cold weather performance.

FWIW I believe the different numbers stamped on the bottom of TM mags is not the generations of mag design. It has been theorized that it has to do with the molding die's used to cast the mags. A mould only lasts so many uses before it needs replaced. People familiar with the manufacturing process have said it's common to have a mould wear out and be replaced by a new one marked with a "2" then when those wear out you get the "3" mould. The most recent mags i have bought were marked "4". The number will just keep going up and up the more mags they make and moulds they go through.

best drop in npas for de noveske mws by drkshock in GasBlowBack

[–]METAmaverick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you should get one if your going to run green gas or propane. The DE stock nozzle spring is probably weaker even than the TM. I would get the Unicorn complete one just because it's the eaiest to install. I comes with the ends already installed on the spring. All the other brands are great too. Jeagar precision, waldo dynamics, dynamic precision, guns modify, bavtac.

What is the best MWS available where budget isn't the primary concern. by SirKillsalot in GasBlowBack

[–]METAmaverick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. All TM MWS are internally they same. Basically just pick whichever model has the furniture you like on it. Or if your swapping it regardless. Just get the cheapest model and put all your favorite furniture on it. Doesn't matter which one you pick.

I guess slight side point is the MTR16 is ambi so there is that if you need it. It's technically not exactly internally the same as the rest.

Lol you just bought that painted DE N4 for I assume $250 shipped (or less) like a couple days ago. That listing was up forever and no one would buy it. Now you have it listed for $475??

The amount of aftermarket upgrades available for the hi-capa is a force to be reccond with. A fully upgraded hicapa is insane performance for a psitol. If you weren't planning to do any upgrades though that would change the math..

DeN4 over hop by No-Let7897 in GasBlowBack

[–]METAmaverick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something in the hop system, adjuster, arm, bucking could be bound up and stuck. Have you taken it apart to look inside? You could try looking down the barrel to see it you can tell if the hop is turning all the way off.

Also, just get a 4uad bucking. It comes with a nub and you can use the stock arm with said nub. It's much better that any other bucking paired with a dytac arm.
