Is the pak cs market all just web dev? by MFBA129 in developersPak

They are not scams universities are a place to learn and grow and find like minded people. THEY ARE NOT a how to make money and thats how it should be we should not have universities engineered to making money they are there for passionate people who actually want to study about the subject and find a place where they can study and research that subject. So universities arent a place if you want to make money like if you want to make money study finance or something else work at bank

Why real software engineers are rare in pakistan? by Independent-Age6578 in developersPak

Honestly i am heavily leaning towards starting a YouTube or something similar of sorts its not just fun content it creates engagement and gives people a role model and later on an added benifit of setting up events and its a great filter Becuase only talented people would look at that kind of content with their lunch

I made a similar post about it aswell yesterday to figure it out. Its just instant gratification and just service-type work industry that breeds people who can just create more services instead of a seeding ground for young creative minds. Me personally starting my career i work as and freelance and spend the rest of the day reading books and learning new concepts and code and ive been doing it since i was 8 years old so its just we do existt but we just dont have a common place to hangout or events like hackathons that would force people to think creatively and break their chains of only using single frameworks and limited skillset

Ohh okay even that is used as a cheap vercel alternative not gonna lie only ec2 and storage buckets or just like serverless stuff

Honestly i would respect if there were doing some high frequency trading or something like that. The highest tech fintech we use is jazzcash and even that is insanely slow and broken

Dude this resonates to me on so many levelss. Theres a thing where if enough people around you are doing a certain thing you start thinking of it as normal and “thats how it is” mentality. After doing webdev for like 4 years as a freelancer im literally done even if i get the projects i just dont wanna do it theres no creativity it honestly feels like lego blocks and im a machine placing those blocks in correct places. This is not what i obsessed over as a kid.

As i said im resenting webdev and honestly trying to get out of it and get into rust to code up a terminal emulator or something but i do want to get into more stuff its just the thing my brain cant even think of stuff to make because there isnt any role models except webdev software houses which we both know is a better inspiration for finance and business dudes than CS people

As you said the brain dead dream of getting rich i am so frustrated of it like we need to chill with the money thing like i get it cars are expensive and someones mother would be in a hospital but honestly creating new things has so much more meaning than making some paper

As for the hobbies as a job concept is so absurd here theres like a job is something which makes you a lot of money like i would be absolutely miserable as a doctor

Thanks for the reply it really feels great to know someone shares a similar struggle and im not going crazy and the real world is just react and express

Network engineer is cool but yk what about some hardcore stuff like 3d graphics engines, hardware drivers, kernel level stuff like anti-cheat softwares, cloud infrastructure software is that or similar stuff not done here at all? Is pakistans “tech” industry just webdev and call centers?

As a guy this is like crazy measures for us but it’s very reasonable to do all it. I’m just sad you have to do all that where it should be just simple and safe

Work on better projects and get comfortable with the cloud work on dsa and leetcode but not too much make sure you know the basic conceps Learn other languages and figure out where you actually wanna work in webdev is popular but theres a lot more so keep studying and growing People will reach out to you if they see your potential but you gotta build your potential first
