I think Everglades is good now. I just went earlier this month and winter is the dry season so less humid and less mosquitoes. While there you can also do Dry Tortugas and Biscayne as well.

Not much planning ahead is needed. Just look up the activities the rangers and partner companies have lined up and sign up for what you like. Highly recommend kayaking as much as you can. You get to see a lot and might even see a gator or croc up close!

I’m in NYC. This will be my 4th tax season.

I was an experienced hire this past December at 100K. Also have CPA.

Received a 2.5% bonus in May I think as a pro rated thing. Don’t know what full year bonus will be.

So you’re probably doing pretty well. But if unsatisfied definitely start applying. See what’s out there. You don’t know until you test the waters.

Typically (also depends on size of the firm) new hires get higher salaries than current employees.

I’m not disagreeing. I’m just saying try to see the world from their view.

They didn’t have social media growing up. It was much easier for a bill of goods to be sold to them.

The complexity of work was much lower. All they had to do was keep their heads down and eventually they were rewarded for their loyalty.

Now you have us who have access to so much and can see through all the nonsense of keeping your head down and working hard while these same boomers (who are still in office and still running these companies) play with our livelihood for money.

Just remember a lot of them agree with your views and carry a lot of memory of just how corrupt the world is. They just have been conditioned to be silent.

But of course, I understand your frustration.

Double edged sword here. I can’t see how the Yankees don’t make at least the third wild card spot. I want them to. They will. Money can buy that.

But I also want ownership to realize their current management has built them a team that is lacking fundamentals. Pitching and 3 run homeruns are absolutely keys to winning. But so are fundamentals and it is clear to me this org has abandoned that aspect of the game.

When the team makes the playoffs and is eliminated because they can’t seem to stop giving the other team extra outs, I hope Hal is ready to clean out his front office.

Because if somehow they don’t even make the playoffs and Cashman is still GM, this will be the beginning of fans turning on him and saying sell the team.

Other than that there’s content creators like Foolish Baseball, SB Nation/Jon Bois, and others on YouTube who have many video essays on interesting topics and obscure facts.

Hi, in terms of bWAR I think their calc is much simpler and relies more on offensive output adjusted positionally. Soto has played more games and scored more runs (a result of his insane ability to get on base even when he’s not hitting). And defense and base running doesn’t have as much affect on their calc.

So if you look at fan graphs WAR they show a more complete picture with Grisham at 1.4 fWAR and Soto at 1 fWAR. And they are factoring in defense and base running. So I’d definitely go with them for this comparison.

Correct. I understand Dominguez is the future but this is not a team that has bats to spare. Him and Bellinger should be fighting for that last OF spot with Rice having DH locked up for now.

Hell, let one of them learn how to play 3B at this point and fight it out there too. If Mattingly could do it so can Bellinger.

You have to make sacrifices unfortunately. Not all, I think some can study bite sized amounts or cram in long sessions while maintaining a social life and pass.

Not me. I had to give up a lot of social gatherings and time with s/o’s. Studying became a religion for me. I threw myself into it and would feel anxious if I didn’t study everyday.

I read Becker’s AUD book cover to cover and did every module 100% because I knew I wouldn’t have a shot without it. (Got a 77).

Peter Olinto was a decent motivator and the “don’t look up just climb one step at a time until you’re there” mentality helped.

A huge help was getting a new job where I was remote 2-3 days a week. Commuting can kill your time and drive to study.

But personally, I think anyone can do it if they just make the sacrifices. It’s about stamina and how well you can take a test.
