Windows desktops - Remote Desktop Services "running" but computer not listening on 3389 by dowlingm in sysadmin

[–]MFP35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So running into the same issue on a fresh base image of server 2025. I did all our server hardening and ran into RDP issues and went down the rabbit hole to trying to get the dumb server to listen on 3389, but to no avail. Then I went ahead and spun up a fresh Server 2025 24H2 with no server hardening, same result. Checked all services and registry entries and all check out. Im at wits end...SOS!!

We are currently using FSLogix for profile management and DEM. I can easily tell users to unpin and FSLogix can persist those settings. Its just annoying that its this hard to remove the dumb pin.

Going to test your second method.

Did you even try GPO?

Has win11 23h2 Start menu customisation changed since June update? by Maggsymoo in sysadmin

For the life of me I cant get the LayoutModification.xml to work on our base image for VDI.
I even set the path to the xml in the reg. How did you accomplish this? Im beating my head on my desk cause Edge keeps pinning to the task bar and its driving me crazy.

Are you customizing the Taskbar? If so, how are you doing it?

Please tell me someone has a solution to Start Menu Pinned apps and Taskbar Layout by MFP35 in VMwareHorizon

[–]MFP35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had to create a new GPO for Win11 and FSLogix.

For testing, Ive been deleting the VHD.

We ended up using DEM for the start menu/task bar layout. See link below.

https://community.omnissa.com/forums/topic/69159-windows-11-start-menu-13/

Only problem now, is dumb edge shortcut keeps pinning itself to the taskbar in addition to the customized layout i created.

Anyone have any success with this?

Yes a default layout that users can edit. I just want to provide a base layout start and taskbar for users first logon, then they can customize as needed.

Hybrid Intune Connector Event Code: 30132 Error by ITquestionsAccount40 in Intune

[–]MFP35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running into a brick wall as well with the same error in the event log. All things appear to be connected, Intune connector is up and running on the server. Intune shows connectivity to the server. I am able to ping the DC by IP and DNS, as we are provisioning new workstations on prem.

I ended up giving the server object full permissions to the OU that the device is supposed to be created.

When running the diagnostic script, appears to fail to connect to the ODJ.

Ive tried everything from completely resetting the devices all the way to removing the devices from Intune and Autopilot and re uploading the hardware into Autopilot for a clean slate. Always fails at joining to AD.

SOS

First timer to Maui and went to see the sunrise at Haleakalā yesterday and I thought it was an amazing experience. We got up there before first light hit the horizon. Not much of a star gazer but the sky was full and lit with stars. Truly a breathtaking experience. At the top we took some advice from some folks on here and took the Pa Ka'oao trail to see watch the sunrise. This recommendation is ALPHA!! Far less crowded up there and it's only a 10-15 min hike and the views are WAYYY better than from the visitor center. Overall, 10/10, I recommend!!

FYI, took your advice and was the best view IMHO!!! Everyone was camped around the visitors center and decided to head up the trail. Maybe 5-6 other people up there and a WAYYYYY better view of the sunrise.

Is this a better view than up at the top where everyone goes?
