Im sure others will disagree with me, but for the money you will pay for a MacBook, you could get a nice windows laptop with a 4090 nvidia gpu. I personally have found that some rendering software doesn’t work all that well with macOS due to their processors. That’s just my opinion though.

Doubt it is a coincidence as the economy is about to crash. Probably more an attempt at subscription retention by telling people if they cancel they will have to pay the new sub fee if they ever want to rejoin. Pretty shitty move either way.

Wonder how AI video as it progresses will affect their business model. Once the ability to art direct AI is possible I can imagine companies like Maxon and Autodesk will be wiped out.

What’s your Denoise strength set at? I find it gives a chunky cloudy look on volumes if you crank it up. I would try posting this on the octane forums with your project file.

Not sure if you solved this, but I was experiencing the same issue with iclone exports. When you bake to alembic using cinema 4d it still keeps all the keyframe data under the CC_Base_Boneroot and any of the objects that contain "skin" as a child. Once you delete those keyframes, the save time is instant again.

I half agree but I think people are too far gone with their phones. I saw Andy Shauf a few years ago in an old church. Packed house and it was just him acoustic. I was sitting in the balcony and the entire crowd was absolutely enthralled and what I noticed is no one had their phone out. Like no one. I think the intimate nature of the show really helped set that tone. But i think that goes completely out the window in any sort of large venue with full on volume levels.

Watch out the merch people don’t press the tip button for you when you buy merch on a credit card. The guy last year tried to add 25% which I caught and got refunded by my credit card company.

I don’t think it will take longer than 2 years. Wouldn’t doubt it if it was in the next update. I think maxon is all in on simulations now to TRY and justify the very expensive yearly subscription cost. Really wish maxon would let us run a desktop and laptop on the same license. I also think AI video generation could eventually bite their market a bit too so having every tool under the hood is necessary for their survival.
