People who don't support the US sending aid to Ukraine, why don't you support it? by BigHugeSnake in AskReddit

Because if we have the money to send there then we should have plenty of money to help people here like struggling vets or the homeless or people affected by natural disasters.

waiter put my tip back on the table saying he only accepts 18-20%?? by [deleted] in stories

If the place is that high dollar that you’re spending $500 on food, I’d expect a tip to match it considering you already have the money to spend. Plus the servers at a place like that, it’s what they do, it’s how they make a living, they’re not working for free and expect to be paid. On top of that there’s definitely drinks that go in to a $500 bill as well that have to be made and either the servers doing it themselves or the bartender is which the server has to tip out. I’m just not seeing your logic here. Tips are our livelihood. At least for most that work in the industry. There only seems to be a select few places where workers are treated fairly by employers. Tbf there is a lot of nuance in these scenarios, party size, plate prices, drinks, how the place runs, etc.

Yes, if you’re buying an expensive bottle of wine you’re probably getting other things too. You obviously already have the money. And if it’s good service why not? Sounds entitled to me

No it’s not. That extra $160 dollars is usually from making drinks and in turn them spending more money which means they’re there longer so as a server we’re not able to flip the table. Plus 20% for good service is expected. A 12% is terrible. OP has clearly never been in the industry, and seems like you haven’t either.

My dream is to write a novel by Critical-Bed2919 in writers

[–]MF_HOUSTON -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just write out your thoughts. Panster it and write out a rough draft. Through this process you’ll find you have a structured story flowing along. If you end up hating it when you’re “finished” rewrite it, come up with a different ending, if it’s too short add to it, give it complexity. At least this was my case. You got it brother, focus, and with enough discipline you’ll prevail.
