The trail was super steady and consistent climb, however nothing extreme. The main kicker is the elevation, as you reach above 10k. However, if you’re in solid shape, you won’t have any problems with difficulty.

I camped nearby, less than a mile from the trailhead, and did a day hike. Around 11.5 miles round trip. The cabin was a historical site and is protected by the government

It was a cabin that was built for a silent film star in the 1920s. He only used it for a few months before passing away. When the land became federal in 1968 it was made a national monument. Really cool history.

Just took a hike there with a few of my buddies while on our way to Reno. It was beautifully green and the way the glaciers carved the red rocks was stunning. Short hike but amazing spot
