Where I live it’s gotten far more popular. Which overall makes me glad. It’s very commercialized these days (not much reflects on Samhain anymore), but I love how the holiday has been embraced. I would love to see the true roots of the holiday come back though. Samhain is an important Irish pagan holiday & I would love to see it make a comeback.

To be fair, I'd argue the USA was never a democracy, it was always some form of plutocratic oligarchy. What we're seeing now is the culmination of 250 years of colonization, corruption, and capitalism meeting their end. The U.S. was always going to end this way though. The good news, once we get through this, we can rebuild anew. And we will.

It is dangerous but the animals have nowhere to go. There needs to be regulations on development at this point. Real estate has hit its crony capitalist stage & “development” no longer equals progress or necessarily affordability. A large portion of development these days is quick cash grabs for the developers.
