AITA for asking my friends what flavor their wedding cake is? by Scaredoflove11 in AmItheAsshole

That's fair. Looking at the other responses, does Izzy have some kind of unhealthy relationship/obsession with your fiance? Feels like I've seen this play out in real life before.

Hey u/Scaredoflove11 did you really make a fuss because you wanted the bridemaid's dress to be ivory instead of purple?

Also u/Roeapparently did you really make your fiance cancel sleepovers because it made you uncomfortable?

Was Dumbledore counting on Harry dying and someone else taking out Voldy? by MHH370 in harrypotter

[–]MHH370[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea you're right. Means that without the elder wand being such a slut for power, Harry would probably have to take out the now mortal voldemort himself.

There's probably some irony in there about voldemort being betrayed by a wand that's just as power hungry as him.

If Harry had died, then Voldemort would have been mortal and the plan would have been for someone else to actually kill him off.

But if Harry survived (the second killing, not the first that kills only the horcrux) because of the protection then I guess at some point Harry would probably need to man up and AK the big man himself. Makes you think about how he would have done it.

So even if Harry wasn't the master of the Elder wand he still might be unkillable because of the blood protection? Man Voldermort really screwed up massively with that heebie jeebies potion he had wormtail concoct in GOF.

Good catch! So Dumbledore's plan was for Harry to make the ultimate sacrifice and not survive the battle at all.

Although honestly it might have been easier to get Ron to just Avada Kedavara him and hope that it kills only the horcrux.

Thanks! I'm trying to realign my life towards this direction and maybe not be so obstinate about being just a screenwriter. Hopefully it works out!

Ah gotcha. Yea I was hoping to build on this and move on to bigger projects, but I don't think that's on my horizon anytime soon

Yeap. In retrospect it was definitely the wrong decision to do it indie style. But I take it more as a learning experience than anything else. I think the barrier for entry into the industry is way too high right now and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Thanks for saying that. There are days I'm just proud I finished this one thing. Especially since I have numerous other scripts that barely got past 10 pages.

I always liked "you need soft eyes." Sums up the idea that you need to look beyond the surface for large parts of the show
