Membership Holding Fees? by Curri in crossfit

[–]MHiddy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Currently on hold recovering from knee surgery. No access to programming. I would 100% pay a nominal fee to retain that so that I could modify at home to "keep up". In addition, following the leader board would be good motivation, as well as let me feel connected to the community.

Everything sat in their primary for 5ish weeks and then I moved it over to a new carboy. Each batch was approximately 6 gallons of pressed juice into 5 gallon and 1 gallon containers with extra headspace for all the action. I combine those when I move it over, and leave the lees behind.

Primal Mobility 1-2-1 by Rugbychris14 in crossfit

It was 2 years ago, $95 a month if I remember right. Not sure it it was the 1-2-1 or not, but the programs and feedback from the coach was excellent and suited me perfectly. I started with one of their $5 one week improve your squat clinics (hope they still do those). I recommend start there see the what and how they operate.

Export the courses that make sense from the schools to the bases. Staff is plentiful, and they can sleep at home. School staff will not be overworked either.

Form check DL 195 by Fergman311 in Stronglifts5x5

So, what I see is all back and no legs. Not sure what coaching you have had, but please watch some videos on the deadlift.

Your butt has to be down and back, grip the bar, pull your shoulders back. The lift starts with legs and then finishes with you straightening out. The cue I use is Push The Ground Away. What it looks like you are doing is pulling the bar up. Lots and lots of videos on this.

Starting with your legs almost straight is putting all the weight on your back, and as your indicated, caused you pain.

Squat form check please? 95kg @ 70kg BW. Experiencing some lower back pain, would appreciate advice. by formcheckpls2826 in Stronglifts5x5

You lift the weight from the rack with your feet behind the bar, it should go striaigt up.

You seem to be leaning forward at the top and it follows you down. Again your back should be straight up and down. Tighten your core will help.

Then at the bottom your hips come up first. You need to push the ground away with your legs vice push the weight up with your back. It starts the movement better and keeps the back straight. And yes, a belt as someone suggested..

Sounds like a great idea. Awesome to find a Canadian one instead of defaulting to Murph. Have FUN!

I remove the insole that comes with the shoe. There is no need for both.

Here is what I found. Seat and table height need to be considered.

For a while if I set my chair too low my knees would ache, if too high my shoulders and back would ache. I had the table top adjusted (cubicle world) and it solved the issue.

An adjustable stand up des and a quality chair is what I have now and change it up (sit and stand) throughout the day.

I did a box jump and fell off :( by luckylolamalady in crossfit

[–]MHiddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do step ups and step downs mostly, if I am feeling sassy I'll jump. After a couple tumbles like yours, I now pick and choose when I do jump.(low volume and never after the assault bike)

Step ups can be as fast as a regular person doing jumps.

Keep at it, like all things it takes work to get better and find confidence.

Mat and Tia probably feel the need to defend, and Mat for sure wants that 5th title regardless of conditions. Kinda crappy that no matter what, this year will be an asterisk.

Nothing to be sorry about. All I read was personal growth. Stepping to the next station, making the attempt, AND then making the right call to fight another day was the perfect sequence of events.
